Leita is named after the character from short story The Third Wish by Joan Aiken (you may have been assigned it in middle school lit if you're close to my age 😉). In the story, an aging farmer is granted three wishes after a run-in with the king of the forest. Leita is the result of his first wish for a wife, secretly a swan turned human.

She is not a shell and I do not like calling her such - she is only inspired by Leita from The Third Wish.
