From the album: Clover's Adventures
My dad cut a small piece of scrap plastic and wedged it in the ankle of the skeleton to stop the foot from constantly falling off. It worked really well! She's been totally fine ever since. -
Hopefully this is in the correct area to post this...? Mere hours before the new year, I took Miku to a friend's house so we could watch anime, eat fast food and then watch the ball drop on TV. I have one of the clear small dog/cat backpack that I had put Miku in so I could transport her safely. While taking her out of the cat backpack, I noticed her left leg seemed loose. When I lifted her out, her leg literally fell off. Apparently, stupid me forgot poor Miku is not a easily poseable BJD with ball joints and internal stringing, and can not sit crosslegged. Oof. I'm not terribly worried, I'm more mad at myself for breaking poor Miku! I know she's made to be able to have her parts easily replaced, but it still hurts me that I hurt my Miku. I've checked Cool Cat for hip and shoulder metal sheath sets, any idea which ones I should get for her DD III body? I also want to get the neck joint, parts that I've wanted to get anyways. I was hoping that I could get them quite a bit later in 2024, but oh well. Also, is there a tutorial or video that shows how to replace that hip, or better yet, add all of these parts to poor Miku? Welp, she was home for a year and four days before any damage occurred, I guess that's a good thing. Hey everyone! I thought I would share my fun adventure in re-rooting an old doll I got from Mandarake a few years back. It is none other then Cardcaptor Sakura - the Bandai bendy dolls from the early 2000s. The version that I re-rooted is the platinum dress version. Sadly, I forgot to take before pictures of what the doll looked like WITH her old hair. It had gotten that crispy feel to it and had turned a strange greenish hue before it began to fall out. Here a close up from Mandarake’s website with the original hair: Before I began, I had to look up how to re root the head and used this video for guidance, which also lead to where to buy the supplies required for this quest https://www.everything-dolls.com/how-to-reroot-doll-hair Without further adieu, here is my doll with no hair (she’s kinda cute without hair) The bangs after 30-ish minutes or so of work (or one Futurama episode later) And so… after 9.5 episodes of Futurama and a short lunch break, this girly got some fine hair again! Tomorrow will be her hair cutting and styling day as I want all the glue used inside the head to harden before I start pulling on her. If all goes well, Syaoran will also be getting a new make over too as his dolls were notorious for losing their hair!

Hey guys. I'm getting my third doll in the next month or so. I'm shopping on Mandarake and one of the dolls i'm looking at has some dirt on her, the item description says there's dirt on her legs but other than like two or three small dots of dirt i can't really see anything else. So if the pictures are just to hard to tell from how hard would it be to remove dirt from a doll. It really doesn't look bad honestly just small minor stains
