i love the new eyes + how her mouth looks ^_^ your chii has always been gorgeous + stood out to me, i remember being stunned by her when i first saw her (i think on reddit) ! the retro anime look w the eyes w the realism of the face of the sculpt looks really nice together + gorgeous photos as well :]

i initially started reading this thread having no idea that you were who you are! i discovered you on instagram after seeing your chii; she's seriously so beautiful and i feel like she captures the essence of the character so well. i love her!! and of course 9s and 2b are stunning as well

 

if you don't mind me asking, how did you make chii's ears? i have my own custom chii i'm working on and have no idea how to tackle her ears since i can't find those 3d printed dollfie ones on etsy anymore 😅

Thank you! I was so worried with the first eyes because I was worried getting her was a mistake. These eyes saved her fr lol

Eeee I’m so glad you like Chii! I give the most attention to 2B and 9S, so Chii is happy to have a fan 🤣

I made her ears with craft foam & a little foam clay on the seams. I’m a cosplayer but I prefer old school methods lol. You can find a tutorial on Chii ears for cosplay and scale it down if you’d like. It takes some finagling, but I personally prefer it over 3D printing.

THOUGH i believe the printer Chii ears are back up on Etsy again. I and some other doll owners were keeping an eye on them. I eventually made my own, but I heard them say they’re back up. 

I haven’t played with my dolls in a while and realized I miss them.

So today I decided to take a few photos during the golden hour.

First up was a picture on the bench 

Ive still yet to get a picture of this bench where it’s clear they’re on a bench lol but I like the leaves around them. 

Then I took some family pictures with the kids. I somehow don’t have many family pictures either!

Even though the babies are anime style, I’m glad they still pair well with the dollfies.

These came out a little like celebrity family photos you’d see in a magazine LOL

I did some doll maintenance yesterday which included addressing the bodies of the tiny fox babies. I forgot to buy body suits for them but said it didn’t matter because I didn’t plan to ever change their clothes. I have dolls in 1/12, 1/6, & 1/3 but have stopped buying clothes at all in the smaller sizes. Not having to think about an additional wardrobe for mini dolls would be nice too. But heck I’ve gotten really attached to the tiny fox babies and the little family aspect I’ve got going.

Their bodies were pretty stained from the black outfits. I ended up swapping the stained parts onto a spare body (funny thing is 9S’ bottom stained & 2B’s top stained so now I just have a crazy stained spare body), so now both have ok looking bodies. I have one suit so until I get a second, they can both wear white.

I was going to make something more formal, but I wanted to get on with my day, so I ended up making these inspired by lab no 9 and lab no 2’s outfits. They’ve shown no 9 twice now in the automata anime…hoping these outfits are timely for an upcoming episode lol

I had made their original outfits in a rush anyway, so I’m happy to be able to redo some parts of those.

Playing a bit with the spare hand pack that I never use. Maybe one day!! I’ll finally buy more hands for my big dolls!! (Keep saying I will & then I buy new dolls booo)

This past weekend I took 9S and the kids to the aquarium ~
There is an Animal Crossing event going on and the mascots were set to be out that day, so I had plans to go with friends.

The main point of the trip wasn’t the dolls and it was incredibly crowded, so this wasn’t the ideal shoot environment. I’ve been to the aquarium before when it is not so full, but this trip was just so so…SO MANY PEOPLE 

Anyway, I got what I could LOL

9S’ outfit isn’t his usual style, but I just had to have him wear something fish themed. He’s wearing the mackerel shirt I made for the concert & a fish shirt I made for Hawaii. It’s a very dad-core outfit which strengthened my decision to not bring 2B. Her legs are so busted, and having two Dollfies is so much. I thought of it as 9S having a dad day with the kids 🤣

I also forgot to put shoes on the kids… That also feels like something a dad might do. 
 

That’s all! I think not having them in super fancy outfits made it feel like less pressure. I’d love to do another fancy shoot sometime soon though!

Though it may surprise you, I was all over the final episode of the NieR Automata anime. There was a lot of speculation about deeper things but I’m glad it ended how it did. The last scene was actually the one thing I’ve wanted to see most for all of these years. I AUGH GAH. Good time

Anyway this didn’t happen in the anime, but with dolls anything is possible.

If the joke is about it being a tramp stamp, they’re not really a thing in Japan so it’s not too surprising they didn’t get it. Maybe if you’d had him sign it like those stupid hentai womb tattoos they might have made the connection, but probably not… That kind of humour doesn’t translate well.

I don’t use the pods that the dolls came with much because I hate them. Not as characters, but as props they are SO finicky. The anime made me emotional about the characters though, so I pulled them out for a photo (and I hated posing them for every second lol)

This week I put out a new video about doing a fall photoshoot. I took these pictures last year and posted one or two but have been sitting on the set since then. At the time I felt they were some of the best photos I’d taken! I love sharing my work, so I was pleasantly surprised I was ok with waiting so long to share. I think it’s good to be able to enjoy your hobby without needing to post about it. Though it is normal to be excited to share or feel bummed out when others aren’t as excited as you ahaha

Anyway, I waited so long because I wanted the video to be seasonal, so it was easier to just wait for Fall to come back. In that time though, I think I’ve improved a lot, so a lot of the set isn’t as amazing as it felt back then. Oh well! I had a great time and still have a few favorites from that day.

2B’s dress is Volks Eternal Embrace and 9S’ outfit is something I made myself. I set out to make him something with an open back. I think it’s still my favorite thing I’ve made him LOL

My EGL group had a gothic meetup today. I took Mr & Mrs Scrimblo with me since other people brought along dolls. We didn’t have as much time to take photos since we were all talking. I also needed to get my own pictures, so this was all I took.

i would like to go back later when the new gothic outfits I ordered come in.

 

 

Originally I planned for the tiny fox babies to only wear Yorha outfits. However as I’ve committed more to 9S and 2B as my main dolls, and as the kids have become their own thing(I guess they’re my OCs but also not really 💀), I wanted to put more effort into the them, and an outing this past Saturday was the perfect occasion to really doll them up.

The launching point was some embroidered trim which made a perfect skirt for Elizabeth. I paired that with the tiny fox frog girl top, black socks, and black shoes for a cutesy look. 

For Niall, his outfit started pretty simply with a shirt, vest, and shorts, but as a wearer of ouji fashion, I can’t stand when an outfit has less effort put in just because it’s not a dress! I added an embroidered cherry from the trim to the vest, pearls on the shorts, a bunny friend, and a big bow for his head. They both usually wear bows, so I thought that would be a cute callback.

On the outing, my friends and I ran into a beautiful tree, so we pulled over to take pictures LOL

I have a special fondness for the babies because their faces are so…head empty. Not a thought behind those eyes. 

I like the direction of these outfits a lot. I deliberately do not dress 9S and 2B in cutesy clothing because I want them to feel like adults. I think these clothes do well to make the kids match but also have a cute childlike feel. If 2B and 9S are gothic, then the kids are bitter sweet! I will continue with this way of thinking…

For Halloween, I wore a classic lolita look meant to evoke an old timey doll. I thought having a dolly companion would be fitting, so I dressed up Florian like an old timey clown and brought him along.

I’m a little behind on uploading pictures here. But I also haven’t been taking as many lately. Been focusing on other things. Regardless, here are some of Florian. I finally made his pants. 

Next I will make some appropriately sized poke balls. I think it’d be cool to make him a team as well. At the very least I’ll make his signature pokemon~

(this is the default trainer design but I did give my trainer his own backstory and team 🤭) 

Florian looks great! His soft, natural faceup and hair befit classic Pokemon character designs, while elements like the flower tattoos provide your own flair. (And did you make the needle-felted Florian too? Nailed the Nintendo art style there!) I especially like the clown outfit- it's both elegant and cute, and his tattoos jump beneath the lace stockings. The shape of the shoulders balances his silhouette nicely too. Out of curiosity, is he the same Len, or a separate doll?

I look forward to seeing what his personal trainer style will be. But all in good time. Better to tackle the dolls and crafting when the mood and timing are right. You seem like a regular cosplay / event attender, and those take a ton of energy and care. May the winter season bring you positive experiences, and fun memories.
