For a while I’ve wanted to do a photoshoot with 9S. Taking pictures with dolls is rather hard since both you and the doll need to look good. Dolls have a 1000 yard stare if you’re not careful with posing them. 

I hope my feelings came across though. I love seeing people photographed with their dolls! Doll owners don’t always appear on camera it seems. I’m a cosplayer as well so this wasn’t a huge leap. It still feels personal though. I guess it’s the self indulgence 🤭

I would like to take more pictures with my other dolls!

I also really like seeing the people behind the dolls, but I understand that it can be a challenge to step in front of the camera. I certainly feel more comfortable behind the camera and letting the dolls take the spotlight instead, haha. xD I have huge respect for cosplayers, 'cause of the process of making the costume, and then bringing the character to life with expressions, poses and manerisms. It's fascinating to see! 🥰

It’s funny— posting pictures of myself online is normal at this point, but I was still nervous posting these. I’m also confident with how I look, but posing with a doll can knock that ahaha. Like ohhh oh nooo I’m nothing next to you, perfect anime boy 😆

Cosplay has helped me a lot with styling dolls too! My first go around in this hobby I had no skills in crafting, wig styling, or painting, but now I do! Alternatively I learned sewing to make doll clothes and that later allowed me to get into cosplay. The circle of life.

January 30th is 9S’ birthday(or rollout day to use the proper terminology). I’ve always wanted to celebrate a fictional character’s birthday, but my favorites usually do not have an official one. Celebrating the concept of a character is a little difficult for me as well. But now that I have this 9S doll who I love so much…I was HYPED to celebrate. First I made him a sash. I had tried a button and a hat but both were oversized and looked a little silly. I think this one matches his style better. The other dolls can use it on their birthdays too!

9S started the day by getting a picture with HIS GIRLFRIEND 2B. Carrying both of them around is hard, so that was the only festivity she participated in. 

My original plan was to go to the bookstore, then buy a cake and take it home to celebrate. However I was able to recruit a friend to celebrate with me, so it became a full outing!

We went to a cafe with soufflé pancakes and split the raspberry banana flavor. I wanted to get some kind of raspberry dessert for 9S’ birthday because his official perfume (yes that exists) has raspberry scent which I think is adorable. 

I also got a matcha strawberry latte. This was all very good! A lot of sugar too. I felt a tad queasy afterwards ahaha.

Afterwards, my friend and I went to the park to get some photos. We both wore lolita, which is a thing we do anyway, but being able to dress up for my little guy’s birthday made it feel more special. We both took pictures with him LOL

 

I brought my ita bag too. It’s still a work in progress.

Shirts I made last night! I’m so pleased with how they came out!!

I have VIP tickets to the Nier Orchestra concert in Orlando and AUGHHH I’m just so hyped! I’m taking these two with me and wanted them to have new outfits, so I decided to make these shirts 2B and 9S wore in some recent comiket merch. 
 

I sewed the shirts using fabric from old human sized t shirts and used HTV for the design. I actually don’t have a cricut so I cut every line individually and pieced them together like a collage. A lot of love went it it but anything for them ehehehe

That pic of them together in the shirts is so cute. They look great! I went to the Nier concert where the dolls were first shown physically and it was fantastic. Hope you enjoy the one in Orlando!

I was broke the last time they had one and was beginning to seriously regret not trying harder to go, so when they announced this one…I made it my personality lol

I was the opposite and planned to get only 9S. I loved him so much though that 2B started to feel essential. They’re very pretty dolls and they made me love the characters even more. Plus, I get to put them in matching outfits. I think that was always a doll dream of mine lol

Spring outfit time!!!

It’s been a while since I posted here, but I’ve been wanting to make new outfits for 2B and 9S FOREVER. First I wanted to do Christmas ones, but that didn’t work out, so once the weather warmed up, I set my eyes on spring.

These are actually for a video, so I’m trying to withhold the full details, but they were made with a combination of bought and handmade clothing. 2B’s dress is a Volks one I modified for instance. 
 

The video will include their gothic outfits I posted a while back too.
 

Im planning on a location shoot to get really good photos of these, but I couldn’t resist taking a few at home.

I absolutely love your 2B and 9S. They always look so elegant and this spring photoshoot is no exception 💜

It’s as good a time as any to introduce my newest little lady: Baby 2B!!

Baby 2B is a Tiny Fox 1/6 Froggy girl who I customized. I did touch ups to the face up, replaced her eyes, styled her wig, made her outfit, etc.

As usual, a video is on the way, but I am sharing photos way in advance.

I noticed I could not stop talking about how I thought making baby 2B and 9S would be soooo cute, so I gave in and made her even though I had zero plans for new dolls this year. She has a brother on the way as well! I originally intended to only make a mini 9S, but I felt like 9S would be a girl dad, so they get twins lol.

I finished her a bit ago but since this thread is in the DD section (help. I made it when this was a DD only forum & would actually love to move it to the general photo section) I waited to post until I could get a picture of her with a DD 😆

So here is a daddy daughter photo with 9S.

I think of her more like a child to my larger dolls than a mini version of 2B. To differentiate between the two, I call her Elizabeth! Or Beth for short 😗

Beth will probably stay in this outfit for her entire life. I cannot afford the mental energy for a 1/6 wardrobe and a 1/3 one 😂

You can always self-report your opening post and ask for the thread to be moved to the general photo section. The report just ensures that a mod will see your request and that they know you mean it (not just thinking aloud).

Local man begs us to remember him. It’s Len!

I found some wire with flowers at the craft store and made it into flower crowns. This topped off a cute spring look for Len. I want to buy him a new outfit, but I’m going on a trip at the end of the month…

in my personal lore, Len does modeling, so think of these as his advertising work lol

He is advertising the camera if you were curious 

Len is a less seen member of this family, but he is a solid one nonetheless. I look forward to doing more youthful looks on him.

The flowers are so beautiful. I’m starting to run out of ideas for photographing them which is a bummer!! Just wanna be out there in the flowers.

Last week I spent the day with some friends, and we brought along dolls. We ended up going to a boba place with claw machines and I was able to get some super fun photos!

 

Dolls are so fun to have because they are easy to take unobtrusively to places like this. I’m a cosplayer but I feel much more comfortable taking 9S out than trying to go in a costume. I’ve also found myself becoming more comfortable with having him in public. Not enough that I’ll take him everywhere of course, but it’s nice to not be crushed by embarrassment…as much lol.

Anyway, I am so happy with these photos! I have more, but the forum only lets me add a few at a time. I know how to get around it, but eh these are the best ones anyway.

this is also my only outfit for 9S that makes him look cool. I’m hoping to add a second into that repertoire soon…
