Yes, I made the needlefelted doll too! Actually a long time before I started on the DD.

And yes, he is the same Len. I’ve reshelled him permanently, so he won’t be Len anymore.

Since taking these photos, I’ve added a few accessories. I would like to keep him visually as close to the default design as possible, but it’s fun adding small personal touches. I’m not sure how well the backstory I added will come through, but for the record, he’s a painter 🤭

Merry Christmas!

On Christmas Eve, the outfits I ordered from Melody C in the fall arrived. I got sweet devil which is a jirai kei set for 2B earlier in the year and liked it a lot, so I’ve had my eye out for a matching set since then and ended up getting Holy Oath which is sort of a wedding set. Unfortunately 9S is too small for most boy doll outfits. I actually got his outfit without realizing it was sd17 sized, but the design is baggy so only the sleeves are noticeably big.

2B’s dress fits perfectly. I like it a lot, and it feels unique even though 2B has a black and white dress from Volks already.

The original styling for the male holy oath outfit skews young like something a child prince would wear. It looked cute on 9S, but I prefer my 9S to feel more like an adult, so I restyled it. Admittedly I was worried it wouldn’t work at all, so I was relieved that belting the top, adding a half cape(thank you senbonzakura set), and a different beret (the original had a pompom) was able to save it. The new silhouette feels medieval which is different from what my 9S usually wears, but I think it’s a nice change and still feels like him. 

I took these in front of the Christmas tree, but it’s like a dark gothic Christmas.

I’ll probably take more Christmas photos today, and definitely more in these outfits. I have a location in mind!

We had tea, so I posed them with the trays(this was at home not a restaurant lol). It sort of looks like they’re at a fancy dinner.

I was so worried about 9S’ outfit at first, but it’s really grown on me. Feels quite princely!

And of course my court mandated saucy photo LOL. To remind the homies that my dolls aren’t siblings…

Actually this one was inspired by an illustration from Chobits with Chii’s dress unbuttoned in the back. 2B’s dress reminded me of it. It would be more alluring with just her, but I like making them kiss?? This photo looks a lot like the last time I made them kiss though. There are honestly only so many ways dolls can kiss.

2024’s doll family photo~

Last year, EVERYONE was new.
This year, Niall and Elizabeth are the new additions and Len was reshelled as Florian. Chii joined mid year but did not last (she’s now looking for a home!). 
 

I had to do a lot of soul searching over how I want to enjoy dolls & the most responsible way to go about this hobby. I am very happy with my current dolls so I really don’t want to buy any new bjds for a long time.

Ah!! I’ve fallen behind on sharing here. At the end of every year, I say I won’t get any more dolls, and then in January I become a LIAR.

Once again I have lied, but…only half way. I decided to list my icon for sale a little while ago to consolidate my collection. The only thing I would’ve wanted instead was a cute mini boy. But honestly I also wanted to find a way to keep the icon head since it’s such a unique sculpt.

THUS this little guy was born:

Sebastian is a Nikki head on a DDP body. 
 

With its round features, I think this head works well for a young boy. I haven’t had a MDD for a while and have missed it, but I wasn’t sure what  MDD I would make since my original plan for one was Florian who I ended up making on DDSB.
DDP was as small as I could go with this head, but I’m happy that he can essentially still wear MDD clothing, so it scratches that itch! 
 

The size difference is very cute. I look forward to dressing him like a little lad. 

Such a unique look for an Icon head, I love it! Plus he goes well with your other semi-real dollfies!

Thank you! I loooove custom icons. I want to say I wouldn’t mind having another, but I better just not say anything lol

Took Sebastian outside today to try on some other clothes. It was never much, but I kept all of my MDD stuff, so I was excited to see how it looks on DDP.

The gakuran and school blazer I have weren’t great fits. The blazer was about an inch too short to look good.  The gakuran top was long enough, and I could fudge the pant length with black socks, but the proportions still felt off and too stern to suit him. I think the frilly ouji look will be what’s best for him since it fills out his very thin body. None of my dolls wear that style yet, and despite wearing ouji myself, I also do not wear that style, so he will be a nice outlet for it ahaha 

Anyway, here’s a garden look I managed with some pieces that did work!

He’s my most “baby-little lad core” doll so far. This will be interesting!

I was wondering what happened to the head. Saw the Nikki listing on Mercari and added it to my watchlist, but suddenly it was just the body, and I had thought maybe you sold the head. He looks fantastic! And you've given him some blushing and freckles to match the aesthetic of the others- perfect. I'm glad you kept him; not many people customize their Icons, and he was a gorgeous Chii. Now he's a gorgeous lad, and fits with 9S and 2B well stylistically. May he scratch that itch well! He is definitely suited to the frilly look.

Ahaha I was begging for someone to buy the full doll!! But I also kept messing with the head—and I had wanted to sell my Len before but fell in love with him after a rework. I considered making another Nier character with the head, but I’m only attached to 9S and 2B, so it felt forced. 
 

I’m always happy to see a custom icon. It was another custom that made me decide to get one!

A belated happy Valentine’s Day~
it’s funny, but having my dolls to celebrate holidays with makes things more fun. I’m indifferent to Valentines Day, but I was excited to take a doll photo
