littlebearries Posted September 6, 2011 (edited) It's that time of year! To think about who to send your Christmas cards to! Let's have a Dollfie Dream Forum Christmas Card Exchange!!! *NOTE* ALL religions are MORE THAN WELCOME to participate, and everyone is encouraged to send out cards that represent their own, personal religion. Participants will have the option of how many cards they would like to send out, minimum of 5... maximum of everyone on the list (you can always change your mind about how many you would like to send out... but you must send out at least 5). I should also mention, it is not necessary to make a card for each individual girl of the house you are sending to... one card from your girls to their girls is perfectly wonderful. If you *want* to make individual cards, by all means, please do!!! But it's not a requirement. The cut off date for participation is November 20th. If you're interested in joining in the card swap, please PM me before (or on) November 20th. It's a busy time of year, so that gives people a lot of time to put the names on the cards and get them out. Cards will need to be in the mail by December 10th. This should give everyone plenty of time to be ready, and plenty of time for International cards to reach their destination. I will maintain a list of participants (forum user name only) here in this thread, and assign card trading partners to those who opt to send out a specific number... that way we can try to make sure everyone gets some cards Please feel free to post not only your intent to participate, but some info on the girls you want to receive cards, that way people will know who they're sending stuff too!! This is open to International participants!! Please keep that in mind when you're letting me know how many people you'd like to send a card to! Also, it's ok, once the list gets going, to come back and change the number of people you'll ship to... since it may get very large... or it could remain small... who knows?! TO PARTICIPATE: 1. Post in this thread saying you would like to take part (and maybe post a little info on the girls/your family that will be receiving the cards) 2. Send me a PM with the address you would like your cards mailed to (Only those who will be sending you a card will see this address) PARTICIPANTS: 1. littlebearries 2. baldylox 3. PlasticFantastic 4. Cosplaybunny 5. Ilvias 6. mitsuki 7. PrettyCranium 8. dreamcore 9. aeris 10. bethykins 11. Suzuna 12. pandacornn 13. LordNoir 14. JoltFiend 15. Pacino_83 16. Tensei 17. LoveAngel 18. Usaii 19. baldylox Posted September 6, 2011 I'm definitely in on this! I already planned on sending out cards to close friends anyways so what's a few more? Put me down for 10 cards, this way I can send to people I know as well as a few I may not. As for me, I think everyone here knows my girls so it should be easy to just send a single card to them as a family instead of singles. But if you like a particular girl of mine more than others, feel free to send along an extra note inside just for her. I don't think that will cause any issues with anyone. I'll prolly wind up doing this with some of mine anyways. Now to figure out what I need for the picture on my cards! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. PlasticFantastic Posted September 6, 2011 Count me in as well! ^_^ I think I can manage 10 as well Just so others know: Feel free to send my individual girls cards if you like but it's certainly not expected of you! Can't wait to see what sort of designs and fun arrive in the mail Please visit my YouTube channel for helpful DD tips, tutorials, and reviews!
Cosplaybunny Posted September 6, 2011 Oh this sounds like fun! I've already got some cute ideas for the card. I'll wait to see how many people sign up before I say how many cards I can do, but I think it's going to be around 10. I'd like to just receive one card for my whole group. Edit: Looks like I have to wait to pm my address since I cannot do that yet.

Since the deadline to send isn't until December, there's still plenty of time to join in on this, I'm sure you'll reach 20 posts by then... and if not, we'll work out something through flickr or email XD I'll add you to the list! mitsuki Posted September 6, 2011 I would like to go for sending out 10 as well. I have so many girls that just one card would work for me. Thank you for organizing the exchange, littlebearries!
PrettyCranium Posted September 7, 2011 I'm in! I can do 10 cards. I'll send you my address by PM. Can we make sure that we have reminders to mail them out at the end of November? Just keeping this thread active should be enough. Edited to add: one card for my large group will be fine, too, though I ditto what Baldy said.

( sorry if it seems stupid lol) -must the card be a picture of our dollfie in Christmas theme, or not? I have to know because I don't have any christmas clothes at this time and I am not sure I will go for any this year. Thanks in advance Hey there. To try and help with your questions, I would say that you don't have to send a card to a specific Dollfie at all. You can just send one card to cover an entire household. That way one card can be for multiple girls. But if you *want* to, you could send a card to just one girl. I don't see an issue with that really. I'd say if you wind up sending cards out and most of them are to people with multiple girls, it's easier to cover them all with one card for everyone in that household. But you also don't want to send a card to just one girl if she has "sisters" in the same house. That might be kind of rude. Maybe send a smaller one inside the main one for the girl you wanted to get a card for. And you don't have to send a Christmas card with your DD's on it at all. You can just send whatever type you like as long as it's Christams themed. Now doing custom cards with your girl or girls on them is a cool idea but I know a lot of people don't plan on that. So don't worry if you have no holiday themed clothing for your girls. You can send a regular card and have them all sign it or take a pic of your girls in everyday wear by a Christmas tree or something if you like. Be creative and have fun with it! littlebearries Posted September 12, 2011 Yup, Billy is spot on... Traveller Posted September 14, 2011 AS much as I like the idea I am left thinking .... "Should the christmas card be blank or is is safe to say "Merry Christmas", and so on, as in this day and age, I don't want to go around upsetting anyone if I was to take part. Slipping a 6x4 pic or something in that size of the Sae (and hopefully her new sister) next to a small christmas tree with small presents is not. I just don't want to go around upsetting anyone with strong religious beliefs. Ian (AKA Traveller)

I just don't want to go around upsetting anyone with strong religious beliefs. Ian (AKA Traveller) If anyone is of a different religion and doesn't want to send out Christmas Cards, that is perfectly fine! The purpose of this is to send out cards that represent how you celebrate the holiday season. Including a picture of *YOUR* doll by a Christmas Tree with presents, if that is *YOUR* religion, to someone who practices a different religion, should be fine.... you're sending a pic of your girls participating in your holiday tradition... which makes perfect sense. If someone wants to send pictures of their dolls participating in other holiday traditions other than Christmas ones, that's perfectly wonderful! I called this thread a "Christmas Card Exchange" because I also started another thread about Halloween and doing a possible card exchange for that, and I didn't want things to get confusing by using the word "Holiday" when there are several Holiday threads. Perhaps when Halloween is done and it's not right up there next to this thread, I will have the title changed to "Holiday Card Exchange". Honestly, I used Christmas here more as a commercial term, because I assumed everyone would know what I was talking about, and it's easier than saying Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanzaa/and on and on. OF COURSE every religion that would like to participate is welcome. I DO NOT want this to become some sort of religious debate on PC terms/behaviors for the holiday season. (and any discussion that tries to take it off in that route I will ask be removed, since that is not the purpose of this thread, if you want to discuss this, I ask you do it through PMs) ALL RELIGIONS ARE WELCOME in this card exchange. ALL participants are encouraged to represent THEIR holiday traditions.
PrettyCranium Posted September 15, 2011 Just saying, as a non-Christian -- it has never, personally, bothered me EVER if someone wished me a Merry Christmas. I totally understand the feeling and sentiment behind the saying, and I'm more than happy to wish a Merry Christmas to those who celebrate (and those who do not). But once again, there's no need to turn this into a PC debate. I'm happy to send out Hannukah cards, Kwanzaa cards, or just happy December cards. It just seems like a fun, nice, interesting thing to do.
Traveller Posted September 15, 2011 I'm not trying to turn this in to a PC debate, but I just wanted to know where I would stand, as here in the UK, you just say one word out of place to the wrong person, they blow it up in your face and take you to court because you said a word that offended them. So i am really sorry for starting off on the wrong foot here.
littlebearries Posted September 15, 2011 I don't think anyone is upset... I just wanted to make it very clear, after your statement, that everyone is welcome to participate. And also, that everyone should participate by sharing THEIR holiday traditions. If you celebrate Kwanzaa, send out cards with a Kwanzaa theme, if you celebrate Christmas, send out cards with a Christmas theme, and so on and so on. This exchange is about sharing the holiday with our DD friends, whichever holiday that might be, and the card you send should represent the holiday you partake in. And, as previously noted by dreamcore, there's always the fallback of the ever popular "Happy Holidays" card.
mitsuki Posted September 15, 2011 "Happy Holidays" is what we use here at work. It is so diverse with so many cultures but everyone likes having a holiday. We have an annual institution-wide Holiday party every December with cookies, apple cider, egg nog, and even ice sculptures on display.
