Cauldroness Posted July 27, 2014 Today was a very humid, overcast day, and my camera really struggled with the moisture and light -- all of my photos ended up with an odd, bluish tinge. I guess I should have spent more time fussing with the white balance! But I decide it was an opportunity to play around with my (very limited) photo editing skills and make each photo unique. In the end, I'm pretty happy with how Salem looks in each photo, although it was a real struggle to get there. I hope you also enjoy Salem the Red Maid! I said some really colorful words when I discovered the blue tint, so I'm glad I was able to salvage them. She makes a lovely maid! That outfit is awesome.... she wears it so well too. It's a combination of two really old Dollheart sets, Pure Maid & Ruby Maid... and then three or four petticoats to get the proper amount of "floof" and some hidden safety pins to get it to fit properly. I bought this outfit back in my resin phase, before I even thought about owning a DD... It was a happy surprise to see how nicely it worked. She's so beautiful! They are actually Rin Tohsaka's default eyes, but I find them just perfect for Salem. As for the photos, they're actually not true filters (my software is so ancient it can't even do Instagram-style filters!), just me playing around with a variety of effects and layering them on top of each other. Altho I should probably get photo editing software that isn't from 2001 if I'm going to keep practicing The wig is from Crobidoll, they have really lovely wigs, but they tend to shed a lot. I keep finding pale blue strands everywhere. She is very pretty! Lovely red maid outfit. Thank you! I wasn't expecting the red to suit her sweet face, but it really does.
