TheSpyderDuster Posted August 11, 2014 I draw and publish my own comics which will soon be a web comic so I just got back from a convention that was awesome except I got food poisoning! So I'm stuck in bed feeling weak and shakey whatnot. So I figured I'd get my dolly fix by posting in here.
Totorosan Posted September 16, 2014 Awe man that sucks! What convention did you recently attend? I went to DragonCon in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago, and I am just now getting over my case of the ConCrud Nothing like 60,000 people in 3 hotels to get you sick quick. Looking forward to seeing your webcomic!
Poofiemus Posted September 16, 2014 Ah yeah, good ol' con crud. I haven't gotten it yet (knock on wood), but my mom sure did at her first con last year. I always have a harder time with post-con blues than post-con physical illness. I love that geek synergy of a good con, as well as the fact that there's always something to do at one, so I feel pretty let down when they're done! I also get post-NaNoWriMo blues after November's over every year, so I guess I'm prone to post-event mopiness if I've really enjoyed the event in question. In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
FreelancerAlphaOneDashOne Posted October 23, 2014 AVCon plague. Anime & Video Game Convention is held in the middle of winter in Adelaide, Australia. Every year since its inception, without fail, the closed quarters of the convention combined with the vast quantity of people crammed within, have harboured and nurtured it. Someone brings it in, everyone carries it out. It's not just a cold, or even the flu. It's always some kind of superior, hybridised super-flu (sometimes referred to as man-flu, however females are equally vulnerable) which knocks out a good portion of Adelaide for up to weeks afterwards. Not only does it affect con-goers, but also anyone and everyone they interact with in the days immediately afterwards. It spreads especially rapidly due to the fact Adelaide is a small town wherein majorities of the population pass through the same choke-points, such as the only central train station we have, or the only tram line we have, or one of our 5-6 major supermarket facilities. This expedites the spread of the virus ensuring maximum infection rates. It would be a dream situation for anyone playing that plague game on their phone.
