Contredisant Posted August 16, 2014 I'm looking into a head who has some faint stains from a faceup leftover. She said she tried to remove it, but I'm not 100% sure what she used to do that. It's only about $25, so it's not a huge loss, but I am curious to see what you all think. The stains are very, very faint blonde eyebrows left over, blush and lip color, and some visible areas where eyelashes used to be. Should I pass, or should I go for it? What would be used to properly remove or fade these stains from the vinyl? Thank you in advance!
Subaru Posted August 21, 2014 If there's still some sealant left over on the head try using 90% alcohol or pure acetone to remove it. If stains still remain, you can use Remove-Zit from Twin Pines to remove the stains completely. Using Remove-Zit is a lengthy process, but I think it's worth it. Unfortunately it's smells VERY strong (vinegar and bleach combo) and it's pretty oily and can only be dissolved with orange oil or Twin Pines own Formula 911. It also has the tendency to cause the vinyl to swell which can look ugly, the swelling eventually disappears but you have to wait a few extra days/weeks for it to disappear. You cannot rush and paint over the swelling because it risks ruining the work that you have done on the face up. However, Volks is going to be producing their own stain remover "Dream Rescue" which is supposed to dissolve in water and has no strong odor. Once I purchase the Dream Rescue I will give out my official verdict. My wallet needs a vacation 💸Blog Insta Ko-Fi Etsy
xhuxhurocket Posted August 29, 2014 Dream Rescue! I had not heard of that but I'll be looking for it If the head was sealed properly 90% rubbing alcohol ought to do the trick. And you can always do a faceup that covers the stains if you have to.
