I like most of P4's OST but Time to make history was something else. Too bad by the time I get midway I always get preemptive strikes so I barely get to listen to it much :C

 

 

Active Angel II (Blazblue Chronophantasma)

 

Best magical girl, also has one of the better remixes in the game. Seriously I think the only song that beats this is alexandrite II (and endless despair II)

One of my favorite LL songs all time. It's also that one song that I'm being extremely masochistic at

Starringchild (aimer / Mobile suit Gundam Unicorn)

 

God when I heard this song for the first time while watching Unicorn's exclusive screening months ago, there are CHILLS up my spine. It gets even better once you get to the chorus . There's also an english version of this song if you're up to it

Happy Maker ( μ's / Love Live School Idol Project )

 

Hey guys I cheated again lol :v , couldn't help but throw in another LL song. Altho to be fair, Soldier game was never featured in the anime and Happy maker did. I also love how they used this song to end LL, definitely a great song to end the series in yes yes uwu

I'm going to end up listing fifty if I get a chance, haha.

Touhou 8 - Imperishable Night Extra Stage/Fujiwara no Mokou's Theme : "Reach for the Moon ~ Immortal Smoke." Mokou is my wife, so it's only natural that her theme is one of my favorites.

 

Touhou 11 - Subterranean Animism Stage 2 Boss/Mizuhashi Parsee's Theme : "Green Eyed Jealousy"

fun fact: FUNimation couldn't actually clear the copyrights (the eternal problem of a popular band song getting used like this), so the opening of Eden of the East ... only appears in the 1st episode on the US release. The rest of episodes they threw in a different song, which while a lovely song in itself, completely doesn't match the beats of the animation

 

Kodocha anime hit the same snag with their first OP "7 o'clock news" not clearing rights to be used at all

I think we're both hitting our age with a Semi! I was all about that song in english where Sailor Moon fought Beryl that one and when it eventually came on toonami when Sailor Moon was against "Wise Man."

 

I think my other all time favorite song though one that I can pretty much sing without accompaniment is going to be "Driver's High" from GTO -

 

I collected a lot of songs from anime I hadn't even seen a long time ago Ranma 1/2 included xD

but hey, speaking of big non-Japan bands having their songs licensed for anime, how about Paradise Kiss using Franz Ferdinand as their ending theme -

 

and Death Note had use of Red Hot Chili Peppers song ... tho I can't remember if it was anime or live action movie

Since I don't really play any video games anymore, I can't share any of that music.... so I'll use those entries for more anime songs instead.

 

In no order and of course in no way are these the ONLY anime songs I like, here's a few that really stand out to me.

 

OP from "Say I Love You" =

 

This series was too friggin adorable, I love it. And the intro song gives me goosebumps. Yes, I'm a big ol' softie dammit.

 

OP for "Mushishi" =

 

The Sore Feet song really speaks to me since I used to hike 50 miles a summer on the Appalachian Trail as a Boy Scout. Really tho it's awesome.... I like the upbeat sound and the silly lyrics quite a bit.

Wired Life rocks. It's semi EDM but kind of Pop sounding too. Too bad they cut this ending in half for the US release on Cartoon Network....

 

ED #1 for "Inuyasha" =

 

This was actually the first time I paid ANY attention to a shows opening or ending song/credits. I absolutely love the images in this and the music still makes me smile. It's my hands down favorite ending tune ever.

This is another awesome ending song from this series. I love the singers voice, she sounds so determined to get her message across. I actually really like most the ED songs for Inuyasha but I won't list them all here.

 

OP for "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" =

 

This is probably my favorite opening ever. This series was and still is excellent and the opening song still has a great sound to it after all these years. It's also cool how they use 3 different languages to sing this song.

 

ED #2 for "Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad" =

 

The English version of this song is so good! I get goosebumps listening to this one too.
