That's interesting that Candy/Mirai are 100, that sculpt didn't have a number stamped before the new release. I wonder if they updated the mold for the new standards? And if Takane is 109 then 107 and 108 got skipped, maybe that's Rin/Len? I love speculating about the release process :3

Volks has the sculpt, but maybe they discarded the old casting molds.

So in the process of making new ones, they added the number.

Back then they didn't need numbers, there was only one sculpt

I wouldn't be surprised if they changed the sculpt. The moulds for the oldest DDs don't have fine features in their sculpts, they've been able to put a lot more subtlety and detail into the moulds as time's gone by. I've seen (a lot) more pictures of the new Mirai/Candy than the old ones, and I haven't seen anything about them that makes them feel like they're the oldest DDs.

 

Sakuya's Crimson release got a new sculpt number for some reason, and I have really no idea what they could have changed (･･')

I think there's an error on the sheet, specifically with the Sakuya Crimson Mode mentioned above.

 

According to the spreadsheet, Haruka Amami and Sakuya Crimson are both Mold #79!

 

The numbers aren't very well-written and are often quite sloppy; I suspect whoever looked at Sakuya Crimson either thought the 0 was a 9, or typoed the number when they sent it to you, and that Sakuya Crimson is #70 just like the original Sakuya.

At this point the following sculpt numbers are unaccounted for:

Likely that some of these are for Rin/Len and DDH-10, and maybe the others represent Volks originals not yet released (new standards or Akiba DD) which would match their previous release delay vs sculpt # for those. It's possible that some re-releases got new sculpt numbers as with Candy/Mirai.

Kagamine Rin is 112, and DDH-10 is 107.

For sure! I just dumped everything I had in my ref folder, but it's far from complete. Would be great to have even more and higher quality images for future reference ^_^

In particular I was trying to save wigless/blank head shots since those are harder to come by, but I'd like to add more examples of default and custom DD as well. I don't have any Nanoha so I'll take whatever's handy ^_^
