Luca-Nyan Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) Tomorrow I have to take my DDS on a flight so I tried to take her apart to make her a little bit easier to take with me but now both of her schoulders are stuck and don't move at all anymore. It seems to be the pin that connects her arm inside the shoulder, I am really scared I will break her if I try to put more force on it then what I have done so far. Do you have any idea how to get her shoulders to move again? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, if I may ask here, I can see a tiny crack in her leg joint (where her leg connects to her body), what would be the best and easiest way to remove her leg without making it crack completely through? (Will buy reinforcement parts for her to make the chance of it getting worse as small as possible) Edited September 3, 2014 by Guest My girls: Millhi, Asuna, Sinon My guy: Kirito
waha Posted August 24, 2014 You can probably just pull a bit on the pin to make the vinyl move a bit. Some DD joints are really stiff as well, especially when you try to move them with your finger. Connect the peg to the inner bust frame and it should be easy to move again.

Amber Posted August 24, 2014 Are you able to get any pictures of the problem area? Maybe that would help to figure out a solution. >__
Yukamina Posted August 24, 2014 My girl's arms got really stiff in the shoulders one time, I think the hot whether had something to do with it. I ended up pulling the joints out and carving down the peg a bit, and that helped. Before I did that my girl's arm actually snapped because of the stiffness D: My Etsy Shop ~~~ My DeviantArt

Without really taking much apart I was able to get her safely with me on the plane (used a lot of bubble wrap and protected my bag with my life XD) The shoulder that does work is still pretty stiff and the other shoulder is still stuck. Luca-Nyan Posted September 2, 2014 With this post I should have enough post to post some pictures, so I will make sure to do that today. One of her shoulders is still stuck. The other one was stuck sometimes but I removed that one when I could, I'm scared to put it back in now because I don't want both of her shoulders to be stuck again. What could I do to get the other shoulder to move again and how can I prevent this from happening in the future? I never had this problem with my DD. Amber Posted September 2, 2014 I just took a look at my DDS and I could not really see if anything was different between mine and yours. Maybe try pulling and twisting, but hold her at the shoulder of the arm... Not lower down the arm. Other than that I don't really know what to suggest. >__< Hopefully someone else will have an idea too.
waha Posted September 2, 2014 Pretty much what Arienette said. If they're so stiff that you can't even move them I'd say take them out, and sand slightly on the pegs and then put them in again.

It does not move at all T_T But thank you! Pretty much what Arienette said. I want to take it out but I can't get it out, and I am scared that if I put any more force on it I will break the joint. One side is out and I can try to sand that side a little but the other one is a lot more stuck. Grab firmly on the shoulder of the bust so you can feel the inner frame, then wiggle the arm out. That's pretty much your only choice unless you want it to be stuck forever. Either it comes out fine, or the frame breaks (very unlikely, if you hold it through the bust vinyl). Wiggling is the key, don't pull, just wiggle back and forth.
Amber Posted September 2, 2014 I would take her top/bust apart from her torso. Then bend the arm out completely straight... Put right hand thumb on top of the shoulder (of the arm piece) then position left hand around her neck and shoulder (of the bust piece) then twist and pull. Does that make sense? I don't always know if when I write out directions if they are very informative... Lol

It was not easy, I was scared of breaking her, just like you are I think I put her in the freezer for a bit (in hopes of the plastic peg contracting in the cooler temperatures) , but I'm not sure whether that helped or not. Luca-Nyan Posted September 2, 2014 Is there a way to kinda lubricate it (to maybe/hopefully) make it easier to remove? My girls: Millhi, Asuna, Sinon My guy: Kirito
Luca-Nyan Posted September 3, 2014 Added another problem I discovered >.< (Sorry if it is wrong to add it here, let me know if I should change it.) (I'm quite new to Dollfies and their issues O.O ) My girls: Millhi, Asuna, Sinon My guy: Kirito
Luca-Nyan Posted September 6, 2014 I'm getting a little scared to look at her. The more time I spend looking at her joints the more problems I discover. Right now she still has one stuck shoulder (I emailed Volks about this, maybe they have some more tips to fix this)(I also tried the tips I already received here but I don't seem to make any progress), at least one visible crack in her leg joint and 3 cracks in one elbow joint. From talking to the previous owner I did not get the impression that he handled her rough and I have handled her as carefully as possible. I have read stories on this forum and I did notice that I am not the only one with cracks in her DDS Millhiore though. I decided that I will buy the Cool Cat reinforcement parts for her shoulders and legs but I am not experienced with disassembling a Dollfie so I am really scared to remove her legs right now as they seem hard to remove, especially with the crack that I do not want to make worse. Sorry if it is annoying that I keep posting here I'm just a bit worried that I will turn these small cracks into big ones since I am not that experienced... I have read a few topics here that say how to fix the shoulder and leg joints but is there also a way to fix the elbow joint as it is right now? And also, how do I remove her leg safely without making the crack worse? Her leg: Her elbow: My girls: Millhi, Asuna, Sinon My guy: Kirito
Galvatim Posted September 6, 2014 The Cool Cat leg reinforcement pieces will help with the legs. I've got a DD3 with them on, and the legs hold position well, even without any other repairs. On the other hand, I have another body that needed replacement thighs, but I think that was just a random mass production defect, unlikely to occur with frequency. For the elbow issue, you might want to consider a whole new pair of arms, especially if you're still having trouble with the shoulders.

If the arm isn't coming out from the shoulder, and the elbow is cracking... Perhaps you should just take the arm out, even with force, and just get a new pair of arms. Not really sure what to suggest for you at this point since you have tried everything and the arm won't come out. It may be time to just use excessive force and get new arms if it breaks in the process.
Lainee Posted October 11, 2014 Did you ever get her shoulder unstuck? I'm wondering because I just received my DDS body from Volks and her leg is stuck. I ended up contacting them and sent her back, but I'm just wondering if you had any luck. Waiting for: Ranka~
Luca-Nyan Posted October 12, 2014 Did you ever get her shoulder unstuck? I'm wondering because I just received my DDS body from Volks and her leg is stuck. I ended up contacting them and sent her back, but I'm just wondering if you had any luck. Actually it suddenly came out yesterday! I had already decided I had to break it out but did not have the courage to do that yet. Yesterday I just picked her up (I seem to do that every now and then to try to remove her arm) and the arm suddenly moved and I was like: Did it break??? (I did not put that much pressure on it so I was surprised), then moved/twisted it back and forth a few times and it came out. I already made a deal with another girl to buy one of the arms of a new set (she has the same problem with her Millhi but the opposite arm). So hopefully the new arm does not fit as tight and is easier to move. For her other arm I will probably sand the peg a little and hopefully that will prevent this from happening again. If I would have to guess I think the weather had to do with it. It had been quite warm here and a little bit moist. Now it is colder and not as moist and now it came out. Not sure if this actually was the issue though, but it seems so. I had also emailed Volks int and Volks USA but both could not help me with the issue and advised me to buy new arms and/or internal frame parts. But I am happy Volks will fix your DDS legs ^^ My girls: Millhi, Asuna, Sinon My guy: Kirito
