Resin dolls anybody?

I guess I'm pretty doll-obsessed, I not only have a good collection of silkstone and vintage repro Barbies, Blythes and Momoko dolls, I have huge urge to collect figures which I am trying to abstain, stuff like pinky street with the price they have can easily get out of hand and be a caseful!

even for BJDs, i need to make a decision to thin them out because at least 3 dont even get playtime

Here's my newest, Daiyu. She's named after a character in the well-known Chinese historical novel "The Dream of the Red Chamber", and she's a Feeple65 Siean from Doll Shop Fairyland. She's sculpted by Cerberus Project, who also design some of LUTS's dolls, and do beautiful work. The outfit and wig were part of her fullset, and are absolutely stunning.

 

Damn, Daiyu's smokin hot! Her knees look interesting though, and those heels, she look like she can club alright :p

 

Here's my first BJD, Miere, it's almost his fourth birthday since I bought him

 

omigosh, I love his button noses~!

 

And, here she is after. It's a temporary one, but it's too cold to use any sealant.

 

I find her makeup very endearing :3

The knees are the one thing I'm not in love with about the sculpt though. And, yeah, those heels. She can't stand on her own with them to save her life. With flat feet they're fine, and can support themselves without a problem, but on the heels a stand is absolutely mandatory, and it can't be a cheap one because of how much the doll weighs. You can't tell in the pictures, but she's huge, absolutely dwarfs a DD.

I have a bit of a resin collection myself, apparently I'm addicted to tiny's (around YoSD sized?)

 

o__o im always so self concious about terminology I never know who uses what terms haha.

 

I also have a couple MSD and SD's

She's a Unoa Sist, and she doesn't have a name yet 0_0

Tell us the type of doll and I'm sure someone will know the proper size term... like my Unoa is a "Slim MSD" (althoug I've also heard them called "mature MSD" LOL) XD ... there are just so many though, no one is going to get mad if you bungle them, and if they do, well, they're a big jerk then.

Oooh, I love the Soom Fantasy type YoSDs...sooooo cute!!!! I especially love that little devil they came out with XD He was so different from anything I've ever seen before outside of vintage devil illustrations!

 

As for my Unoa, not a single name idea yet! Not one!!! She's being very quiet!!!

What drew me to her, though, is that I've always loved the Unoa sculpt. There are certain people who own them... who just make me want one every time I see theirs (like Atelier Momoni's: )

 

They have beautiful sculpts (lovely hands, body shape, feet) cute little faces, optional parts, and pretty good posing... and excellent head movement range.

 

And a friend of mine got one in a trade. She had a YoSD she was selling, and someone was willing to trade their Unoa for the her Yo, and she thought she'd have a better chance of selling the Unoa... so she traded... and then the Unoa arrived and she was just going to sell it again, since that was the purpose.

 

I guess she was right... she did have a better chance, LOL.

I'm sure your new little Unoa will find the perfect name! I've seen a few of these lovelies and I can never get over their lips specifically for me, I really love the shape. Do you have a specific look or style that your going to be hoping to shape her around?

 

The little red devil was the Soom Trachy I have one of the darlings his name is Nozomu ( My little Moo for short). I adore his surprised head and how he can nom on almost anything he is photographed with.

I love how you've styled her; her wig and eyes and outfit are all so nice in conjunction with one another.

 

I have to say, I'm a bit biased towards the name "Claire" since one of my dolls is a "Claire," hee hee!

She looks great! I've always thought Unoas had some of the prettiest bodies out there, especially their elegant hands. I've been very firm about trying to keep to just one doll size (SD/DD), so I've been able to avoid the Unoas so far... But my Unoa-love is probably responsible for my Ariadoll (I'd get a Unoa Zero, too, if they weren't so pricey!).
