Ichiko - The First! [COMPLETE!]

I actually took the plunge tonight and ordered my first Dollfie Dream,a DDII base body(m bust) with Option 3 head with animetic G type Anzu eyes straight from Volks USA. Being my first girl ever, I decided that her name had to be very special, so I decided upon 一児　内和(Ichiko Uchiwa), specifically using the kanji for "first child", with the surname "Japan House/House of Japanese Style" to reflect that she will likely be a very traditional type of girl. I already have plans to make her a yukata the moment that she arrives, and surprisingly enough, I already have a kimono from Stacy's Pink Ocean that will become her's if it fits on her. I imagine she'll make a wonderful "ambassador" for the group of DD girls I have planned for the future.

Congratulations on your first DD. Are you going to do her faceup or have it sent out to be done. From the sound of how you are planing to do Ichiko are you going with a long black wig for her. Cant wait to see her when you have her ready to show off.

Thank you, I'm really quite excited. I've done face-ups for resin dolls before, so I'm honestly really excited to try my hand at face-ups for vinyl dolls as well.

 

I was thinking either a long black wig or a dark brown one. I know I have a shoulder length black one ( she'd have to "steal" it from one of my resins) and I may have some longer black ones around here somewhere. As long as I'll be able to style up her hair with some hairpins, I'll be more than happy ( is it sad that I actually already have some DD sized hairpins I made months ago? XD) I'll have to go to the fabric store in the future to get her a fabric with a fan print on it (Uchiwa can also translate to "Japanese style fan".)

Because Ichiko is currently less than 2 days away from me, I decided to draw up an idea of how she should be styled, and I've decided to share it here!

 

 

I used an image of the option 3 head from Volks USA for the base and then modified the drawing to have the correct style of eyes, as well as the wig she'll have upon arriving here. I decided against something heavily stylized, focusing instead on a more simple look. I admit, while inking the drawing some of the ink on the eyebrows smudged a bit, and I apologize for that. The eyebrows might also be a little bit too thick, but I think the drawing came out alright and my coloring job doesn't look too horrid I hope. ^^

She is going to look cute when you get her done. Your drawing is done very well. Are you planing to tie her hair back with a white ribbon or us a black rubber band. And are you planing to get her some traditional japanese shoes and socks.

I'll probably be using a black rubber band with a ribbon over it, different colors depending upon which yukata she's wearing. I'll eventually get her a longer black wig ( the one she'll be using currently is very layerd in the back, which make ti difficult to put up or style.)

 

I'll probably try to either make or find some geta for her to wear about, something with just a single band to go over her foot. It's really a shame that there aren't optional tabi feet available.

I'm thinking I may separate her big toe anyway. I don't really plan to sell her and if I do upgrade her body or something, a new pair of feet can be purchased from Volks usa, so not really a huge deal.
