Funny Story in the Hobby~ Do you have one as well? (:

Here's one of my funny/weird story. It happened today, as a matter of fact.

So, I've bought two pairs of eyes for Miu to see what would look best. I've seen some people use more circular eyes on her before but I swear that I remembered that I didn't like it. So, I bought two pairs of eyes that were more oval and both were of a semi-dark blue (the second pair I bought came with a free pair but the pair was one size smaller than the ones I did buy) . They both looked alright but it was a very hard decision. One made her look more young (and that was good since her character is going to be around 11) but I wasn't sure if it made her look TOO young. The other one was alright but the white didn't show as much as I like (the white looked too far back inside her head). Then I thought to myself how silly the smaller eyes might look in her head, so for fun, I tried them in Miu's head.

THEY LOOK SO CUTE!!!!!!! T_T

Once I put one of the eyes in, she immediately looks more happy and more "alive" so to say. I was so upset yet so glad that I lucked out. Upset I was because I spent nearly $80 on two pairs but the one that looks best is the free pair that came with the second pair I bought that was one size smaller! AHHHHHH! XD And they aren't even blue! I really wanted her to have blue eyes but the free pair are an auburn-like color. Just…agh. Haha~ now I fully understand when people would talk about how eyes and different wigs can really make a doll look different and that, most of the time, it's trial and error with them. I just thought it was so funny. x3

If you're wondering what eyes I got, one pair was from Arietta Project. I actually ordered a custom pair. It was Prisma Illya eye type 24mm but in a sapphire blue color, which they do not offer yet. My second pair was from White Dolly Story. It was the E type in Navy blue 24mm. The free pair was from White Dolly Story and I'm assuming they are the A type Orange 22mm. White Dolly Story is the one that has had problems with the whites of the eyes for me so far. At least, with how Miu's eyes are. But, Arietta Project's whites of the eyes always show so close to the eye crevice and it is so amazing (and they are the ones that made look Miu look real young)!

But anyway, have you guys had any weird/funny incidents like this? I'd love to see what others have experienced! 🙂

(Oh, and I'm sorry for lack of pictures of my girls but I don't have a good camera anymore. My only regular camera, aside from my phone camera which is complete crap in quality, has a big crack on the back of the screen and I can only see in the top right hand corner and that is it. Dx I will get a better camera but I do not know how soon since I just got laid off from my job this week.)

I don't have any funny stories, but I want to get some Arietta Project eyes as soon as I have money to spare. I have only been moderately satisfied with Volks animetic acrylics.

When I get the chance, I will try to get photos. I just really wanted to reveal Miu when she at least has her body, her wig and eyes in. 🙂 I had her get a custom face-up as well so I wanted her reveal to be super special (she's essentially my first DD, since my literal first DD & I didn't bond right off the bat so she had to go). ^^

And you should definitely take the chance and go with Arietta Project when you have the money! Just make sure you know the proper size and look at how the style of the eye is compared to how your DDs eyes' are shaped. 🙂 Or just go rambo and be random. In my situation, those free eyes saved my butt and Miu's face. XDDDDD
