Doll Meet 9-20-14 ( pic heavy )

Last Saturday we had a get together at a local café and then headed for a park we'd not visited before with the dolls. It was a pretty good turnout and I had lots of fun. Please enjoy the photos!

Out at the park, there's a naval memorial area. This park is on land that used to be on the Charleston Naval Base before it closed down back in the 90's.

Oh! #31? Being Volks' first attempt at a head sculpt I call SDD (SD/DD-mix) makes Alna quite special. Wasn't sure if she'd be a hit with the DD fans. Apparently the SDD sculpt was popular enough for Volks to retry it twice more on Kosmos and, even more SD like, on Rise.

 

The eyes are Volks and I think the wig is from Leeke World.

Usually I'm not a fan of blatantly copying other ppl's wig/eye/outfit combos but this one's just too perfect for Alna to pass up. Any chance you could ask Lyssa's owner if they'd be willing to reveal where they bought the rest of her wig/eye/outfit/shoes/jewelry combo?

Not the owner, but the outfit (sans hat) is a Volks outfit. The necklace is part of the dress and actually keeps her top up.

Yeah, I think Alna is the least resin-like of the ones you mentioned. But everyone who saw her at this meet said it was nice to see the anime/DD style with an actual nose instead of just the normal "bump" most DD heads use. Rise is just too far away from the DD style I prefer as she is default. Now I've seen some redone Rises on DDdy bodies and those looked very nice. The KOSMOS sculpt does nothing for me at all tho, even redone. But that's just me and my taste.

Ok here goes. As Kymaera said, the dress, necklace and little lace vest are a Volks outfit. The hat is also from a Volks set, one of the Marine series. The socks are from Alices Collections and the shoes are from Mimi Woo. The eyes are the newer Volks Animetic series that are kinda triangular in shape and not the regular oval types.... I think they're 20mm size. And the wig was indeed from Leeke World. That's all the info I got from her owner, I hope that helps!

Yep, a good time was had by all. And I've seen pics from yalls outdoor meets, anything the dolls can get into or onto is fair game! I wish there were more spots like this around tho, most park areas don't have art installations like this.

I really hate doing all that paperwork.... especially in triplicate. I'm looking forward to the bonfire too. We have lots of clear space on concrete between us and the fire pit tho so we should be fine. I'm hoping we can get some cool photos out there by the fire.
