Adventures at Dollism Plus NY

First of all it was great being able to meet some of the forum members in person at this event! Things like this don't happen too often so it was nice to be able to put some faces to the screen names I've seen for so long in my almost 3 years of being in the hobby. Big shout outs to tsunamidelta, Cauldroness, misskale, moonfaery, & KittyFields I know I ended up missing out on meeting some other members because I had no idea they were attending. I also saw some attendees with DDs, but didn't get a chance to introduce myself to them. I also ended up meeting a lot of other awesome people who aren't part of this forum

Unfortunately since I was running around taking in the convention, buying everything, and talking with people I really didn't take much pictures of anything other than Tsukiko & chibinezumi's Chu causing trouble in the photo areas haha. If you put in "DollismPlusNY" or "DollismPlusUSA" into the Flickr Search you'll get some nice pictures of the vendors that were there. It was so great being able to go to this event with chibinezumi I stayed with her from Monday till Friday morning when we left for our 6 hour road trip to Buffalo, NY. We did a lot of bonding over doll & non-doll topics so I was really sad when the trip was over and we had to part ways. The both of us participated in room sales which like the name suggests is you selling your items from out of your hotel room. chibinezumi made purses, witch hats, scarves with wires in them for posing, and cute scrunchies for the event. A lot of these items pictured are still available and I know she's planning on making a FS thread on the forums when she has the chance so keep a look out if you're interested!

We set up the table at the front of our room that way people could still come in to look at everything, but not past us so we could keep our stuff safe because you never know!

I brought Tsukiko in her ridiculously cute duck outfit and Miss Yuri chibinezumi brought her two custom MDD girls, Eclair (all in pink) & Chu (her mouse mascot). We kept them on the dresser away from prying hands.

Next are the pictures I took of Tsukiko & Chu at the photo sets we got to use. There were so many of them and all of them were really well made! It was nice to see that all the attendees were taking turns and being careful with the sets/props that were out. The MDD girls had too good a time during these photo shoots!

This set was the set chibinezumi & I were most excited to use! It's the Ramen Shop Set that was built for Doll North We had the most fun with these photos~ The both of us agreed that Tsukiko & Chu were really us in doll form while we were setting them up for each shot haha. Let the hijinks start!

Poor Yuri I meant to take more photos of her, but there just wasn't enough time especially since I ended up leaving early in the morning on Sunday instead of staying and hanging around a few more hours before my flight. But she got a nice kitty dress set so she'll forgive me for the lack of photos~

And here are the cards that I made for the event! I kept one of each for myself and passed out the rest. Tsukiko's cards were gone after the first day I managed to give one to everyone I met if I remembered to. I'll hand out the rest at meets and put them in cards for the holidays or something if someone wants one hehe.

 

And those are all my photos from Dollism Plus NY! It really was a special event. When I attend anime conventions there are usually several points throughout the day where I get really annoyed with the con goers for various reasons, but everyone I met (at least for me) was extremely nice at this con. The con itself was really nice! There were only a few problems which is natural since this was their first time holding the event & really it was more on the part of the hotel than the organizer of the con. Room sales were great because I found a lot of affordable clothes/shoes/& wigs. And the Vendor Room was so awesome! I really could've spent more money if I didn't have a budget to stick to~ I need to take pictures of the girls who are all wearing their loot from this event

 

Thankfully the event did really well so there will be another Dollism Plus in 2016 Can't wait to see where to decide to have it and who will go when it happens

The ramen shop!! It got posted on DoA but when I went back to look for it again I guess it had gotten taken down? I was totally obsessed with it.

 

Tsukiko is cute as always in her deadpan manner, and she makes an adorable duck! :3 When my living situation is stable again, I hope I'll get to go to the next Dollism in the US!

I love that picture of Chu and Tsukiko on the bike. Tsukiko looks like, "Whee. I'm flying."

Looks so fun, I wish I was there! The Kiki inspired doll is so cute. I saw her on Facebook earlier.

It was the best time I've had at a convention in awhile The people surrounding you really make or break events like this at least it feels like that to me. Everyone was really nice to one another and helping each other out. Not to mention it was such a blast to shop for dolly items in person! I really had a hard time not spending all my money in one place

 

The Ramen Shop in person was so exquisite It was the one set out of all of them that I was really excited to take photos in so I'm glad when we went there wasn't a line to use it. I should have taken pictures of Yuri instead of all just Tsukiko >_< But it was hard to get myself to muster up the energy after having taken so many pictures of the MDD girls. Ah well I'll repay her with a photo shoot at our next DD meet hehe.

I possibly saw you, but a lot of the time when I saw someone holding a DD and passing by I had my hands full doing something else (paying for items or waiting in lines) and had no chance to say anything Haha if you were at the Swap Meet you probably heard me yelling "Scunchies handmade scrunchies for sale!" as loud as I could for chibinezumi The both of us were on the 3rd floor all the way at the end of the hall in room 341. We didn't have anyone visit who had a DD on hand so I don't think you were at our room sales.

 

Everyone at Dollism really loved the MDD girls. Every room chibinezumi & I went to with them they had fans who wanted to steal them haha. When I saw that motorcycle I knew we had to get pictures of the MDD girls riding it because it would be so hilarious! Aww thank you for the compliments on Yuri She's actually a Saber Lily with Arietta Eyes & a Volks Cork Brown wig

I wish I could have a fabulous 1/3 scale diorama like that in my place, but I'll have to wait for the future when I have a bigger living space I do hope you can attend the next Dollism as it would be lovely to meet you. I saw a few people with DDs around which was great, I was afraid I might be the only one there! My friends and I didn't even realize there were any room sales on 3! I arrived at the swap meet after it started, but before they opened up the other part of the room. It was a bit crowded so it was very hard to get around! I'm so sorry I missed you and chibinezumi. It was so hard to keep track of who we met! We all needed nametags that weren't hanging down by our navels, LOL!

 

I want a Saber someday, she is on my wishlist! No wonder I think Yuri is beautiful!!
