They didn't show many pictures of Sheryl I would of liked to see more of her close up.

*Looks at the pictures* At least we now know that Sheryl is a DD and Ranka is a DDS, *pints to the cards in the pic* but that still doesn't clarify the bust for either one. I still can't figure out if Ranka is an S bust, or a SS bust.

 

I think I'm actually relieved that Sheryl is a DD instead of a DDdy. For me it means less fuss to turn her into a boy. I'm still really impressed by both of them, but I wish Volks would release their specs! ARG!

I'm still on the fence for Sheryl. I love her mouth sculpt, but the eyes seem really small, even more than Rise and Alna. If I got her she'd get a new faceup, and I wouldn't use the outfit or wig... I guess if she has a unique body that would be the deciding factor. Ranka would work really well for my mascot character I've been working on, but waiting more than a year to get her for that would be tough. It was hard enough waiting for Saber Extra, although in that case Volks didn't give any shipping estimate until many months had passed

So is it just me, or does Sheryl's ankle look odd somehow? It's like there's an extra line in her stocking where there shouldn't be and it doesn't look like a weird wrinkle.

You're right there is an odd not wrinkle on Sheryl's ankle. Is it a piece of clear elastic to hold the shoe on maybe?

I don't think Macross Frontier is on same popularity scale as Miku. Miku is like the face of anime as much as I don't want to admit it.

I have been watching Macross Frontier the last few days and Sheryl is built more like a DD in the anime than a DDDy. She is pretty slim in the hips like a DD.

I'm very happy Sheryl looks to be a normal DD ^_^ I'd like a Sister body, but I don't really like the Dy as much.

Im glad she's the DD body! I dont really like the DY busts honestly. There was one I liked where the person modded the DD L bust for it.

 

The more I see Sheryl, the more I want to get her! She's so pretty and feminine Im in love with everything about her. I agree that Miku is on an entirely different level. Last year Kos-Mos & MOMO were pretty popular, but there wasn't any issues. So far as I know it was only Saber Extra that caused long-term issues that everyone in the hobby felt pretty much, and that's because Volks was kinda stupid.

 

How can Miku be "the face of anime" when she isn't anime at all? I know a decent amount about Vocaloids (we have 10 of them) and I simply don't understand why many people think Miku is from an anime. Sure there is a sea of fan-made art & music videos as well as her live concerts, but I don't see that as the same. Maybe my definition of anime is more strict than most.

"Anime" is the abbreviated pronunciation of "animation" in Japanese where references any type of animation. Anything that is hand-drawn or computer animated is anime. I consider Miku anime. American cartoons are anime. But vast majority outside of Japan, correlate anime as Japanese cinematography.

 

Sonico is popular too way before she had her own anime last year. People who avidly watch anime probably knows who Sonico is. I would even consider Sonico anime before she had an anime. I use anime more loosely but most of the time I refer to anime as Japanese cinema.

I have a theory about her ankle: the upper ridge under her sock is the edge of her shin part, and the lower ridge is the edge of her foot vinyl. So that would mean she doesn't have traditional round ankle joints in that setup, and that she has an alternate ankle part that allows her to wear such high heels. But I don't know for sure, I'm just guessing.

I hope these pre orders are going to go smoothly. I'm only saying this because with the Miku pre orders volks got little greedy.

I think for me I kust like to keep things in tidy little boxes in my mind, so for me at least, she's a Vocaloid and that's that. Even having a DD version of her confuses me a bit. It also drives me nuts when people think she or the other Crypton Vocaloids are the only ones. Yeah Right! It annoys me so badly that I want to make them sit in an empty room and listen to Sweet Ann sing for hours!

Even though I'm glad that Sheryl is a DD, I was still slightly hoping that she was a DDdy. I only have use for one more DDdy and she's been a project I've been looking forward to. On the other hand, I'm so tired of having incomplete piecemeal DD that I'm grateful that Sheryl won't send me off on an additional tangent before I can get the other kids finished first.

Noob question here... But from previous pre-orders, when has volks posted the doll information and paying methods? Like a month before pre-order starts or less than that? (I'm really hoping they post everything in the first week of November.)

as for Miku DD I think they gave more info around 2 weeks before opening pre-orders.

 

I think Ranka will have S bust. I'd be nice if Volks would give her one piece torso as well!

More info might come out next week or they might leave full details for the next edition of Volks News magazine which should be coming out soon (usually around 1st week of Nov)

 

Price will most likely be about 60k yen each and it'll be a case of pre-ordering in later Nov and then paying when they're released next Autumn. At least that's what has usually happened for previous pre-orders in recent years

 

I'm eager to find out if there'll be any more outfits for them released. =3
