Normally payment is about 7 workdays before shipping. Don't think you will have to pay during the 1st batch when you're in the 3rd batch.

The Payment for Pre-ordered Dolls was in the past a lot longer than 7 days. (For Momo and Kos-Mos it was nearly a month?) We should wait a little bit for more information. I don't think their schedule will work. They don't know who is able to pay on a short notice (if they really change it to 7 days) so the whole schedule wouldn't work this way.

Well, normally when you enter the After-Event Lottery you know the day you have to pay for your items or doll. You don't know the exact date for Pre-Ordered Dolls, so it would be pretty stupid to send a notice with only 7 days to pay for your things. Especially if people pre-ordered everything and need to have a lot of money lying around. (People could also be on vacations or stuff and are not able to see the notice right away.)

 

But thats how it was in the past, I don't know if they will change it like the After-Events/Dolpas.

So it could be, that for example as of October 1st to 30th is the time frame for everyone to pay, and from Oct 31st is shipping out the dolls in 3 batches? :/

I preordered Sheryl on Dec. 1st but I can't figure out where everyone is finding the batch information. I'm guessing, based on what I have read, that would put me in batch #3? Does that mean December/January? Sorry, I am completely clueless as to how this preorder stuff works.

Even though I didn't participate in the pre-order I'm really excited to see these girls arrive to people soon! Volks hasn't shared anymore pictures of them since the beginning of the pre-order so I'm excited to see default looks, new looks, and customs

As aggravating as it seems, from past experience this IS the way Volks does things. All the hype when the preorders are up, and then nill until owner pics start popping up. That's pretty much how it went with the Xenosaga girls as well.

 

I check my email WAY too many times a day to see if Volks has sent a payment email or not. I finally have all my money saved, now why won't you take it Volks???

There was maybe that one of Sheryl from the DD blog with the fuzzy coat, I think (someone will step in if I'm wrong I'm sure ;D) that was it, the rest were in person photos from people going to the displays.

 

But yeah Miku was out the wingwang --- and I wonder b/c of how popular macross is and there was two gals instead of just the one Miku if they can hold true to that schedule.

 

Kinda hoping they do and dont, b/c do I want my gals already, don't b/c then I have to pay for them sooner... XD

It's too bad I didn't get back into the hobby until after the preorders had passed, because I really do love Ranka's look. The best thing about preorders, though, is that the secondhand market doesn't get inflated too much, so I could probably find her later (when I put together more funds...).

 

That said, I hope everyone's girls arrive safely and without delays!

But, they haven't posted new pictures after the preorder period was finished. There are clothes pictures on development monthly report, but none of the girls.

I didn't compare them to Miku because she's already in a different category, just like the Sabers are. At one point I was wondering if they were going to stop offering preorders for Miku. I think at first Volks wasn't quite prepared for Miku to be such a big cash cow as she turned out to be. The Macross girls just don't have that level of worldwide popularity and seem to be following the regular format that Volks normally takes with preorder DD.

 

At least we know Volks is doing something. Last week the schedule was still on step 3, but now it's on step 4. I've checked my Volks account and nothing there has changed yet for my preorder. Urg... now I have a reason to check my email even more.

I'd have to disagree with Volks being caught off guard with Miku. Something like Miku would have fairly large licencing fees attached to it so Volks would need to sell a lot of Miku's to get their monies worth, which is why they had a huge advertising campaign with her plus have re-opened pre-orders for her on a few occasions not to mention the Snow Miku release and various extra outfits. It was a huge project that's still going on.

 

Macross is huge especially in Japan but maybe not so much worldwide because an american company called Harmony Gold, which bought international rights to the first season of Macross in the 80s to chop up and make into their own franchise called Robotech, currently claim to have rights over all things Macross even though the Japanese studio they bought the rights from only had the animation rights for the first season and didn't own Macross. It's a complicated situation that for whatever reason Big West (the actual owners of Macross) have yet to sort out.

 

As someone linked above the schedule is same for international customers. My guess is payment notices will be sent out for the first batch at least probably next week.

 

Having seen both the dolls in person I can say they're absolutely gorgeous. ^_^ I really can't wait to get mine.
