But I'm super excited for Ranka though can't wait for the PO to open up!

So for the current exchange rate, the entire set is $1,523 USD... before shipping and other fees (like foreign transaction fees that I know our credit card (or is it Paypal?) deducts.)

 

So frankly, the entire set is less than I was afraid it would be (based on the current exchange rate.) I'm pretty excited about the possibility of getting everything since I've never bought that many DD outfits in addition to the girls... well frankly ever. Our girls are going to LOVE divvying up the goodies, but I'm pretty sure that Sohi is going to end up with the yellow/orange set.

 

I do have to say that Sheryl's ONE earring is going to drive me nuts, and I really wish I could get an unripped version of Sheryl's stockings.

 

For me the pre-orders illustrate an aspect of the hobby that I just love- I never really know who will end up in our family. I find that really exciting because each new addition brings more stories and personalities, making me feel like a kid in a candy store. I never imagined I'd find so much happiness crammed into a single hobby.

Lol, You gave me a fright. So I had to ask. Thank you for clarifying that for me. It's been a long night for me. I don't know why I didn't think to add everything together to get the pricing.

 

I'm planning on getting both Sheryl and Ranka, so I was getting nervous that both each were going to cost that much. Good thing I don't want to get the alternative outfits for either girls.

I live in Canada and Miku cost 4,700 yen to ship, and another 2,418 yen in Handling fee because I paid with paypal.

It looks like it's two different wigs. The wig with the bows (that will come with Sheryl) has tighter curls and the wig that Sheryl has in her alternate stage outfit and date outfit has looser curls. Also, the right side of her wig I don't think would work if it was let down.

I thought about this too, and there are some differences between the wigs. First of all her original wig has one side pulled up above the ear, but the 2nd wig doesn't. People's hair may be able to do that easily, but with wigs the wefts (the long sewn lengths of hair fibers) have to be placed certain ways to mimic specific hair styles. From everything I've seen, the wefts don't seamlessly move back and forth in the way that would be needed for both hair styles.

 

Plus, the two wigs have very differently cut bangs. The default wig more curves around her face on the sides, while the 2nd looks more cut straight across.

 

There is a possibility that it could be the same wig, but personally I highly doubt it.

Yes I agree I've tried to do alternate hair styles with wigs to no avail haha. Plus I don't think the curls would look quite as nice brushed out.

According to that page, Sheryl and Ranka each come with two wigs in their fullset package. The main one is called the "new style" wig, which is what goes with the gal's default outfit. Each fullset package also includes a "normal style" wig for use with that girl's alternate outfits.

I just checked again and shipping for both Kos-Mos & Momo to the USA was 9600 yen (current conversion rate would make that approx $85).

 

Paypal fees for foreign transactions is 2.5% of the total amount, so if everything for Sheryl & Ranka is about $1,525 then the additional paypal fees would be about $40.

 

One of the down sides of the preorders and paying for them many months later is it is hard to really know what the exchange rate will do between now and then. However Raven and I have just gotten used to saving up way more than we need, just in case. The extra bonus is if the total is less than we expect, then there is a little bit of spending/splurge money for the new girls, or other DD projects to fuss with while we wait for the girls to be shipped.

 

I'm really glad for the time to look at the pics and think about what I really want, instead of going with my knee jerk reaction. (I admit, I easily get overly excited about things but that's just the way my brain is wired.) I'm really excited about Sheryl & Ranka, but frankly the only outfit set that interests me is Sheryl's alt stage set (55% of the want goes towards those shoes! ) I have a couple of boys I'm hoping to get bodies for this year too, so by passing on the extra clothes it makes that hope much more of a possibility.

You can avoid the PP fees if you pay Volks with a credit card, and also make sure your card has a fair exchange rate and no foreign transaction fees. I got one for my travels that I kept around to use for Volks, Mandarake and the occasional foray into Canada

Well, with Shining Blade, Sakuya, the owner themselves had to make the holes in the ears to get the earrings in. So, I'm assuming the same will be with Sheryl.

Yes, and the earring (one only) is listed as a separate line item in the list of stuff she comes with.

 

It also says Misaki Serika sculpted both of them, I didn't expect that.

Is there a second wig listed? I can't seem to find it in the outfit descriptions.

It shows 2 wigs included for both Sheryl and Ranka. So that's really nice. Those that wanted to have the second wigs for both of them will be getting them along with their stage wigs. So 2 wigs each. Yay!

Oh no, oh nooo... A smooth L bust? A solution to my biggest pet peeve? A LIMITED one?? Must resist... Sheryl is nice too but not a must-have... noooo... I think we all know the feeling, but every time I'm looking over a release I'm worrying that this is going to be my next Yuki... ;_;

 

You guys think it's really gonna be a year wait? I think my Sabers were... 8 months...? It's been a while so I don't remember. But I totally missed what happened with Miku, I hear that was an over a year wait?!
