Wonderful pictures of the new girls! I wasn't really hyped about it since it'd been a while but now I'm totally fired up again! Sheryl looks like a real beaut~ Can't wait to open mine and snap some pictures!

I just want mine to get here. Seeing all these pictures has been murder.

Just got home and my Sheryl is here too! Can't believe I didn't get hit by customs for the first time! They must know I'm on a tight budget

Maybe your Sheryl is a diva and has to stop and look at everything on on the way to you, Sister Kyoya. But she really needs to hurry up and get to you.

Once Madison got switched to the Dev Smart Doll head and I had to rethink of what to do with Sheryl, she was switched to a DD I've been wanting to do for about 3 years. Her motto is 'Goodbye money, hello happiness!' I would not be surprised if she was dawdling on Rodeo Drive and touring Beverly Hills after leaving customs in LA. As for Ranka she would have none of that nonsense and would directly find her way to the nearest junk yard, reacting like an otaku in Akihabara.

 

That's the biggest reason I'm having such a hard time waiting right now, I so badly want to introduce these girls (Sheryl will take longer because she needs a new faceup and custom eyes.) With full confidence I can say we do not have a personality like Ranka in our house yet, she does what she wants and has no intent to keep the peace in our household if it goes against her interests. Her and Madison's story has been building for a while now and it's been so hard keeping quiet about it.

I took more pictures of my girls.

 

You can see Ranka with Sheryl's eyes, Ranka and Sheryl switch bodies and Sheryl with BJD glass eyes. The glass eyes are a dark blue, but look almost black in the pictures. I really love the way Sheryl looks with the glass eyes. I had to try it since there are some DHH-07's out there that look great in BJD eyes.

 

Sheryl's head looks okay on a DDS body in person, but for some reason her head looks a little big for a DDS body and the opposite for Ranka. Hers looks a little small for a DD body. Sheryl's head is a tiny bit bigger than Ranka's to begin with. I tried the same wig on both girls and the wig was a bit looser on Ranka than Sheryl.

 

 

The glass eyes give an awesome 'Fujiko Mine' vibe! I love it!

Ranka has arrived!

She's very cute, even with her "crazy" eyes. Customs got me again ($126.40), but compared to those of you in Europe, that's hardly anything.

 

I love your Ranka shes so cute with that wig and outfit! Can't wait till mine arrives and its finally Christmas because thats the date i can finally have her *.*

Anyone have their gals stuck in Jamaica, NY? That's the customs hub for the Northeast -- apparently the reputation of that office isn't too peachy... they've been there since Saturday at 7am and no departure scan. I only pray some buffoon didn't scan when it left and it's going to be here today b/c tomorrow is a holiday. Though there's always Thursday... but I want it nnooooooowww

Ughhhh, i got both girls and all the outfits so my total came to ¥206585 (about $2400 Aud) *×*

 

Fingers crossed I don't get any hidden bank fees or customs :p

Her faceup does appear different, it's not bad but I wish Volks wouldn't surprise us like that

She reminds me of DDH-07 more than Alna or Rise.

 

I'm glad her outfit has detailed instructions because there are a lot of little fiddly bits! The smooth bust is really nice though, less chance of wardrobe malfunctions

I feel your pain. I haven't gotten an update on my girls in 2 days. Raven and I firmly believe that there is a black hole between California and Washington State. Anything we get from Volks (USA or Int.) sits for no updates for two days before suddenly rushing home. Never makes any sense why, and with Veteran's day (And Raven's birthday) tomorrow, it is difficult knowing if they will get here Thurs. or Friday. They are only two states away, why does it take so long to travel that far??

Definitely I want her mouth to look more like that. I think you could do it by adding some dark paint in the middle and a bit onto the lower lip for a more open-mouth look. You wouldn't have to wipe the faceup to try it, just use a bit of acrylic paint and clean it up quickly if looks wrong. Maybe I'll do that real quick and see before I try a completely new faceup for her ^_^

Anyone notice that Sheryl has a smooth bust? I mean - hooray! no more "it's always cold in Philadelphia" looks all the time!

 

btw - i'm guessing based on previous Volks stories... if the paint job is a little... messy, is that grounds for volks to actually care? My sheryl has a bit spotty plces where they didnt even wait long before taking the faceplate off when applying the paint

Yay, I made a Spoonflower order for some fabric printed like Ranka's yellow sundress and that's already shipped. Now I can make her a casual outfit to go with Sheryl and her date outfit.

I guess it depends on exactly how messy it is. Can you post a picture here?

It was stated on her product page that she would have a 'flat version' and something I've really been looking forward to. I'm very grateful I don't have to sand yet another bust. Dakota is the only one of our DD (except the SS busts) who hasn't been sanded down. I really hope they have flat ver. made for all the sizes.

Ack! Now that is grounds for a return in my opinion You paid for a *new* Sheryl and this one came to you with a defective face up! I don't know how Volks will react if you message them, but I would certainly try to see what they say on the matter.

Once I get all the other pieces inspected I'll send them an email - I mean Sheryl is high class she's gotta be perfection .. Or as close as you can get to it ;D

My girls are finally in Spokane! That's only 3 hours away and within the state!! WOO HOO! Now there shouldn't be any reason that I can see that they won't be here on Thursday!!! Still not thrilled to have to wait the extra day because of Veteran's day, but it is SUCH a relief knowing they are so close to home.

My Sasara has the same thing. It's worst on the same eye too. I got her secondhand so no ability to complain to volks even if I wanted to. Maybe there's a faceup artist who would be willing to touch that up if volks won't help?

So, now that some people have had the girls for a few days: how are the outfits?

 

Are they fully lined in white? White lining with the annoying dyed threads? Do they release a lot of dye when washed?
