Kanu Eye Size

Does someone know Kanu's eye size?

 

I tried the search option but nothing came up and can't find any info on Volks website.

 

I found a spec sheet but the numbers are too small. Looks like 20mm?

From digging around online I've seen both 20mm and 22mm mentioned as the default eye size. Even so, I would think that 22mm would be more believable since that is standard for most DD's and a lot of the older heads (at least in my experience) have even bigger eyeholes than the ones being produced now.

Kanu's default size is 20mm, but she can wear 22mm.

 

If you peek around Y!J, you'll see auctions with: "アニメティックアイズ「関羽雲長」オリジナル光彩・メタリック・20mm" which is Volks' original description of her eyes.

That's good that older models can also use 22mm.

 

Does smaller size means more white of the eye is showing? I enjoy having a mature look for my girls so I should go for 20mm?

Yup!

 

In general, if you use smaller eyes, then more white will show, and with large eyes, the iris itself is larger so less white shows.

 

If you want more white, you can also look for eyes with vertical irises, rather than round irises.

 

For example, a vertical iris would be: http://ariettaproject.com/store/t05-c-1_70_72/

This would create a lot of white space and give a very mature look.

 

A round iris would be: http://ariettaproject.com/store/s01-c-1_70_83/

This will give very little white space and give a much younger look.
