Surely I'm dreaming! (Xenosaga Fullset Momo!)

Recommended Posts

If you would have asked me just two weeks ago, if I was planning on getting another doll soon, I would have told you no way, but last week I was helping a friend of mine get introduced to the world of DDs, and as a result, burring myself in all of the pretty photos of everyones beautiful girls... and the want was there, and killing me - especially for DDS M.O.M.O. - after finding out her character, in the game, carried a compound bow.

I knew nothing about xenosaga, other than it was a game - but I fell for MOMO and hard.

I was determined to get her.

I did some research and found that there were several options around the net that were affordable, not quite my something I could afford, but affordable enough to make non-insulting offers, so I started shooting messages to people to either get quick "No's" "Sorry she's sold" or no response at all.

My spirits deflated, I turned to ebay and saw a lone MOMO under 1000$, still at 880$ and 65$ shipping she was well out of my price range, and the thought of buying a doll from eBay made me a bit queezy.

BUT - it was also "or best offer", so I decided, as a last ditch effort, I would shoot the seller an offer that I felt comfortable spending on a doll that was:

A) on ebay

B) had a pretty short, non descriptive product description

C) had pieces of her stock missing from the photos

D) had no photos of her nude or any photos of her box.

Then my offer sat...and sat... The offer sat, un-responded to, for almost the entirety of the time limit - so I was ready to give up - convinced that they weren't accepting and were just going to let it time out rather than telling me no.

But, still determined, I shot them one last message and asked if they would sell her without all of the "extras" she was being sold with.

Not only did the response say they were accepting my offer, but that I could also still have all of her extras!

The rest of it was like clockwork, she was in the mail - express, the next day.

In the waiting for her, I was assuming the worst. Surely, for accepting my offer there was some catch. She was missing pieces, she was broken/loose, missing her box, or she was badly stained - something had to be up.

But... then she arrived

Festive Halloween Pumpkins! and a good shipper box

The unexpected doll box! And it's in brand new condition - too! no creases, dents, anything!

And then my heart sunk. There she was wrapped in that bright red outfit. The outfit I was sure she'd been in since she was originally purchased by the seller. I knew I was going to be facing some pretty bad staining at that point, but I shook it off and decided to worry about that later and just have fun. Stains can come out, it would be ok.

All of those extra goodies!

4 wigs, 4 eyes, and a great quality stand!

and one of the wigs was Volks! I was shocked :o The other wigs are from ebay but are wonderful as well! I don't think I have any use for them right now, but I'm sure I'll find something!

The eyes are non-animeic metallic acrylics - not really for me, so I'll probably pass them on to friends.

All out of the box and so so beautiful

Trying on the wig I set aside for her that arrived with my Fairyland Feeple60Moe Rin earlier this week.

And then, after playing with her for a bit longer and enjoying how perfect she was, I decided to check out the inevitable staining I was dreading.

except... there was none to be found... a tiny little faint red smudge by her belly button is the only mark on her. She has some creases on her feet from being shoved in her shoes forever, but I assume those will pop back out after she's out of her shoes for a while.

I don't know what lucky charm fell in my pocket, but I'm in utter disbelief.

Good things like this don't happen to me, let alone happen often in the doll community at all!!

Wow, sounds like you fell right into some good DD Karma!

I know it sounds odd but for the most part, stuff like this tends to happen a LOT more on the DD side of the hobby. I've heard plenty of horror stories from resin owners and such but 9 times out of 10, DD sales don't fall apart like that.

But still.....

Having things go like they did is amazing and I'm very happy you could get MOMO. And you really did well with all those extras! So many nice things added in there!

Congrats on getting her and thanks for sharing the story on how you got her. I find the DD community as a whole is an amazing thing and you've now seen it too. It makes me very happy that people are out there who not only help others out but go that extra step to make their DD's happy in their new homes.

I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Thanks so much everyone

I'm really loving her to death. I just want to take her everywhere with me!

So sad that I'm working so far away and getting ready to move right now - I barely have any time for her!

Just a few more weeks, though, then I can spend a little more time.
