Volks Store Akihabara

Hello there

 

I am not quite sure, if it is the right section for this questions, but I got a friend, wo will be visiting Tokyo Sion and she Said, I can Tell her, what I want from there, cos she knows I am a huge Japan Fan. I want her to get me some stuff for my Dollfie Dream. Does anybody, what available in the shop in Akihabara? Is there a Kind of list of something like that. Please help me! I don't want to miss this chance!

The Volks store in Akihabara has loads of DD stuff there, or at least it did the times I went there.

 

I'd say the main thing to ask for are clothes, shoes and extra hands since those aren't as easy to find cheap online. Getting stuff from them at retail is a really good thing since the aftermarket prices tend to jump up quite quickly.

 

I guess it really all depends on what you actually *need* for your girl(s). They should have wigs and such there too if you need those. But personally, the things I listed above are probably the best to go for.

Whatever is on the Volks website is generally available at the store, only exceptions are the new 08 and 09 heads which are limited to that location only. For clothes --- maybe make a list of things you would like, because it's possible that it won't be there/sold out.... Although it might be available at a different Volks location haha, there's quite a few in Tokyo. Second easiest to locate might be the Shinjuku one, I keep forgetting there's one in Harajuku so I haven't been to that one either;;;

In Akihabara they should also drop by Mandarake for used dolls and clothes, they have a big selection. DollK is pretty close to the station too, and then there's Dollce nearby. I didn't visit Dollce since they have limited hours and are a bit out of the way, but they have nice wigs and occasionally custom heads and eyes.

Probleme is: my friend doesn't know anything about dolls... So I need a clear list of things I want.

Oh no;; I just checked the Tenshi no Sumika site and jadepixel is correct, the Shinjuku store closed on Sept 30, 2014 -- :'D Seems like I went there just before it closed. It's a pity, I liked that location in the Alta building. It would have been easier for your friend to find;;; The non-Volks outfits they had were ones by smaller designers. I can't remember if other locations also sell non-Volks, I know the Osaka one has some but that's in Osaka so.... xD;

But some might be mislabelled ( or I just happened to get one that was haha ) But it is easy to get to and if she is interested in figures, cosplay or just looking exploring Akihabara, Mandarake is interesting to go to-- or at least I think so haha.

Yep, the Shinjuku ALTA store is no more.

 

The Volks Akiba store is terribly easy to find; you go out the electric town exit at Akihabara station, look for the Radio Kaikan building right outside the doors, and take the escalators up to the 7th floor. DollPoint is an entire half of that floor. That is where DollPoint is.

 

Keep in mind that Volks' Hobby Tengoku is opening on 11/22 right next door to Radio Kaikan and will be taking up the entire neighboring building (8 floors), but don't go to Hobby Tengoku for DD stuff even though it says Volks all over the building -- DollPoint is in Radio Kaikan!

 

Also, the Azone Labelshop is in Radio Kaikan, so make sure your friend knows the difference between Azone and Volks, even though both are selling vinyl anime-style dolls.

 

DollPoint sells DD bodies, and all parts. They usually have good stock of everything except heads 08 and 09 since those are limiteds right now.

 

The Harajuku store is very pretty, but SD only. Any SD stuff that also works with DD you can buy there, but you won't find DD-only things like the Tenshi no Koromo clothing label or DD body parts. So be careful what you're looking for when you go there. The sales section is on 2F, which you take some stairs on the exterior of the building in order to reach.

Yes, you can get DDH-07 there. Keep in mind that it will be a blank one that you need to paint for yourself though. The pre-finished DDH-07 that you may see around is a limited edition item that came with an old issue of Volks News.
