Volks USA Holiday Greeting event?

Just noticed this tidbit in the november newsletter:

The December Holiday Greeting Event is coming soon! Thank you Dollfie Dream® fans for being patient; this next event is for you!

Oooh. Maybe they're going to have a one-off Dollfie Dream lottery?

Innocentsake posted over on Den of Angels -- they're offering a lottery for Saber Alter and Saber Extra.

 

I recently attended the San Diego BJD con and Volks USA attended the event as a vendor along with donating a SDMG Mako for the 1st Place Winner of the costume contest. At the end of the event Hide-san announced that the DD Holiday event would be them selling Saber Alter 2nd Version & Saber Extra (Nero). Soooo if you missed the pre-order for these two Sabers you have another chance at getting them for their retail prices.

 

I wish they could've done something more creative like One-Off DDs, Dollpoint items, or perhaps even offering to take lotto entries for the Dolpa 32 girls since it is going to be a fierce battle for Sasara & Melty. But at least this is a good opportunity for those who missed getting these girls initially. They haven't posted this info yet, but I'm sure it will be announced soon

I missed out on the Sabers and this is very tempting. But with Sasara getting a re-release... :c If I were to win, I can only afford one of them, not both, and it makes more sense to go after Sasara.

 

 

If only the timing was better.

I LOVE Saber, she's been on my wishlist for a while! I am so hoping I can wrangle one.

Just received my "VOLKS USA Dollfie Newsletter - December Holiday Greeting Special Edition" e-mail!

 

It is a lottery for Saber Alter 2nd Version and Saber Fate/Extra Version. They kept the original pre-order prices from September 2011, so Alter is $682 and Extra is $759, so they've made no adjustments for the dollar-to-yen exchange rate.

 

Interesting rule: if you enter for both dolls, you can only win one.

Entry period for the lottery is Dec 1 (11am PST) to Dec 10 (6:00 pm PST).

Those that win will receive their dolls in (approximately) late January.

It's like getting two chances, if you don't mind which Saber you get!

 

I can't decide which one I want! Saber Alter is the one whose faceup I love more, but she's medium bust and white, and I don't like her outfit quite as much. I prefer the large bust normal body, and I love Saber Extra's outfit, but I don't QUITE like her faceup and eyes as much. And she is about $75 more expensive.

 

And I ask myself, how often will they wear their costumes around here, anyway?? They would be wearing everyday clothes mostly. It really all comes down to the face. I am slightly leaning toward Alter 2nd.

I entered for both. I'll be thrilled for either one, but I really love Extra and if I had to choose it would be her. But Alter has prettier stock... it's a tough choice!

Christmas has come early, so I was able to enter for Alter.

For those who may not follow updates from Volks USA on Facebook I thought I would post this information from Monday:

 

The December Holiday Greeting Event for Dollfie Dream® has begun! 

 

For this event we'll have Saber Alter ver. 2 and Saber Extra available! If you missed both of them from the past pre-order; you now have a second chance! 

 

Unlike the Super Dollfie® One-Off Model Lottery - there will be multiple winners for each Dollfie Dream®.

 

If you plan to enter for both, please make a separate orders for each entry.

Thanks for the heads-up, finally found the page. I hope I get one.

Almost missed the entry deadline. Entered for both.

My lottery entry for Saber Alter has disappeared from my list of orders; even when I search for lottery entries.

 

I suppose this means I lost?

 

This is my first VolksUSA lottery, so I'm not too sure what it means. Has anyone gotten an email yet? It seems a bit early for them to have gone out.

 

Edit: Emails have gone out! I didn't win.

Sorry to those who didn't win, but we managed to get one! We're so excited, it doesn't seem real right now.

 

Edit: To clarify, we won a Saber Alter II.
