Rainie's New Hair

 

Rainie: "Pippi? Who's Pippy? This is Mime Jr!"

 

This happened today.

 

With all of the snuggling that Yuriko gets, her wig was needing to be trimmed. Raven gave me the okay and it turned out fine. (Yay!) After that we started talking about the fact that Rainie (and Ringo) were never intended to be blond. When I ordered her wig from Leekeworld, the website pic led me to believe it was at least a strawberry blond.

 

I have been getting some things together to see if I could sew new wigs for our DD, one of those things being hair fiber swatches. The closest they have to a good natural red matches Yuriko's hair perfectly. To see if that color would work for Rainie, I tried Yuriko's newly trimmed hair on her. Rainie decided that she liked this hair better because it was less fussy and wouldn't get in the way so much. She insisted on the pigtales. I think I'm the most surprised in how much it suits her personality. I keep cracking up every time I see her, and she just acts like she's always had hair like this. (She's such a spitfire, how could she not have red hair?)

 

I tried to scold her, but that never seems to work with Rainie. Luckily Yuriko is having fun with Rainie's previous wig, pretending she's a mermaid. She seems fine with that as long as I work on a new wig for her soon.

 

The longer Rainie is around the more she just reconfirms that she's going to do what she's going to do.

 

Hopefully soon I'll be able to get some new pics of Rainie & Ralph... who is now taller than Naiomi.

Hehe, that look really suits her

Hehehe! That is so Rainie. It suits her to a "T", I don't think I can think of what she looks like with the other hair at all.

For the last three years, most of the time when I looked at Rainie there was a little voice ranting in the back of me head that she was supposed to have red hair. One of the first things I remember Rainie saying about Yuriko is that "she is a cool big sister because she has red hair like me" and never seeming to realize that her hair wasn't red. I never expected that she would steal Yuriko's wig.

 

This morning I ordered more wig fibers that match the color that Rainie has so I can make a new wig for Yuriko, and another for Ringo since even her current wig is really wrong. I got it because it was the closest I could find at the time, but I've never been happy with it. Since Ringo is based on an anime character with apple red hair, having her being distinctly blond has irritated me to no end. (Plus her body was ordered today so she is nearly, nearly done!)

 

One way or another I better learn to make wigs because now I have the fibers to make them for Yuriko (who finds Rainie's old wig amusing, but not a permanent solution,) Ringo, pink for shorter pigtais for Bree, Lucas, and some for an alternate wig for Miku.

Always lovely to see updates on all the characters in your household Raine's new hair looks damn good on her I must say and the style is totally her I really look forward to seeing your custom wigs once you get started on them! I do hate when you can't find the right style/color combination in any of the known wig shops we purchase from. I just recently finally found Akane's hair color (dark blue) in a short style I was happy with by complete accident browsing someone's dolly site haha. So I'm glad your gals & guys will be getting the styles & colors that shout out their identities
