Dream Rescue Cream instructions

I bought some from Volks Int, and the normal product package was wrapped in a bag that had some English instructions and a caution note slipped in. The caution note has some pretty important stuff so I thought I'd post them here. I took a scan of it and ran OCR on the image to get text. They used a weird font with weird character spacing so the result was kind of screwed up, but I fixed the worst of it.

Note:

• Dream Rescue Is exclusively for use with Dollfie Dream.
  
• Color stains penetrated deeply may not be completely removed.
  
• Please do not use this cream near or over the painted features. This cream may remove or damage the painted area or makeup.
  
• There is a possibility of decolorizing the doll's clothes if the cream gets on them.
  
• Before spreading the cream over the affected area, apply a small amount of cream to test on a hidden area. If you see any negative effects on your doll, please stop using it immediately and wash it off .
  
• If you get the cream on your skin, wash It off under running water immediately.
  
• If you interested the cream by mistake, rinse the inside of your mouth thoroughly with water. Then drink 1 or 2 cups of water or milk to dilute the cream in the stomach and consult your physician Immediately.
  
• If the cream gets in your eyes, rinse your eyes under clean running water for at least 15 minutes and consult your eye doctor Immediately. When rinsing your eyes, hold the eyelids with your fingers to keep your eyes wide open so that the water spreads well to all around the eyeball and the eyelids
  
• If you get the cream on your clothes, It may cause decoloration.
  
• Dream Rescue may separate over time, but separation Is normal. Please mix the cream thoroughly before use.
  
• The cream contains granular component, which may cause abrasion on the doll's skin. Please use the cream without rubbing.
  
• Do not use the cream In presence of open flame or spark, or Items with high temperature.
  
• After opening, please use the cream as soon as possible.
  
• The expiration date Is one year from the production date If left unopened. The expired cream may not remove any color stains.

 

How to Store:

• Components are degraded by direct sunlight or a contact with strong
  acids and strong alkali.
  
• Avoid contact with metallic Items.
  
• Close the lid tightly and keep In a cool, well-ventilated dry place at temperature below 86° F.
  
• Keep the cream out of the reach of children and pets.

If you interested the cream by mistake, rinse the inside of your mouth thoroughly...

I guess they mean, "If you ingest the cream..."

probably some sort of bleach in it by the sounds of it. Prolonged contact can probably even take the color out of your hands.

 

I doubt they've put the contents on the packaging? it doesn't sound like something they'd do for a proprietary product like that... I doubt it's much more than some off the shelf product though. As I'm almost sure their hair wax is real hair wax or wax for wigs or face cream... it certainly smells like face cream. and their shampoo is some sort of hand soap or at the most, some generic branded wig safe shampoo.

 

Haven't quite figured out what's in the wig oil spray though. Could be some sort of silicone based oil.

No, they haven't. I think I remember something about an active ingredient, but I can't find it right now.

Has anyone used this stuff yet? I've been doing a bit of looking around to see if it's worth purchasing but can't find any reviews of it.

 

I'm mostly concerned with whether or not it's safe for the white skin/semi-white skin dolls as I know the "traditional" methods of stain removal can discolour them.

 

Any info would be appreciated!

I have used dream rescue on my Chihaya to fix wig stains caused by the powder in her wig. She got stains pretty much everywhere except on her face up. It worked perfectly, but took several applications over 3 days if I recall correctly.

 

Follow their instructions and be super careful not to get any on the faceup or your fingers. I scrutinized their faces several times after application just to be sure, and periodically checked back to make sure nothing had dripped down over the faceup areas. Putting the head on a high shelf where you can see the face without picking it up helps. I also took the head cap off and placed the head on a plate upside down so it had a level surface and wouldn't shift and smear the cream someplace I didn't want it.

 

I did have to fix a wig cap stain on my Makoto awhile ago, and when I removed the cream I noticed the area where the cream was had a very very slight discoloration. However when I checked her again just now the discoloration is gone. When I say slight I mean you had to look very closely and know exactly where the cream was to see it.

 

Both those dolls are normal skin, and I have yet to use it on semi-white skin.

 

You can always test the cream by taking off the head cap and testing inside the head cap or on the flat surface the head cap fits against when it is installed. If it does discolor those areas are hidden.

 

I found using a hobby spatula works nicely for application, but you can also use q-tips.

Thanks so much for the reply! It sounds like pretty good stuff. I'm making an order from Volks today so I guess I'll throw some in. I'll test it on the headcap as you suggested and let everyone know what the results are!

 

Maybe I'm a bit premature as my WS head isn't even here yet, but... better to be prepared, right? XD

I would say its a good thing to have handy. Take every precaution you think you should to protect her, but if you miss something you can address it immediately. With any sort of staining treating the area fast is usually important. I think it does have an expiration date though.

 

Edit: I did remember one other detail. There were some light stains left on Chihaya after I was done. They were barely visible, and when I checked her a few days after the cream had been removed they were gone. The chemicals might soak into the vinyl and continue to work, but someone else on the forums thinks that is unlikely and said that vinyl stains can clear up on their own. In either case I got them as light as I could and they had completely disappeared a couple days later.

I have a newbie question, is this dream rescue cream any better or is Oxy10 better?

Wow... thank you very much, honestly! I just got the creme today and not so sure how to apply since its half-solid half-melted condition. Just a small question, do you seal it after application? if yes, can i use clear tape?

Thanks for the plastic wrap tip ! Just applied it on my DDIII body, hopefully it will be brand new after 2 days.

For some of the darker stains there were some light spots left afterwards, but they disappeared on their own after a few days.

Wow... I probably did something wrong because the darker stains are still there the minor stains are gone though

I applied it like described, not too much not too less but maybe it wasn't enough after all

Some stains just take a while to get rid of. From what I can tell, using the cream works at the similar rate as using the heat lamp + benzoyl peroxide. Try to get the stains mostly gone, so they're faint, then leave it alone and the rest may go away over time (like a week).

Thanks! I reapplied the cream on the major stains again and will wait 1 day before removing ^^ then I will wait a week (longgggg wait is long )

If the stain is strong, it'd be better to wait at least two days before taking it off (the instructions say not to leave it on for more than three days IIRC).

I used several applications of cream. I let it sit for 12 -24 hours per application then removed it, checked the progress, and reapplied where needed. I got the really dark stains as faint as I could, and they went away on their own a few days after the cream treatments were stopped.

 

I'm not sure if the cream may get absorbed into the vinyl and keep working after it is removed. It has been suggested that this is unlikely since you can put clothing or wigs on after the cream has been removed and they don't get damaged.

 

Edit: I didn't apply it too thick. Maybe about a millimeter in thickness. It is abrasive so be careful about rubbing it around.

Why? I think this is something that activates via evaporation.

Well the stains are pretty bad... the worst ones are fading a bit after 5 or 6 times of applying, the minor ones don't seem to fade at all I used some other cleaning fluid right after the staining, maybe that made it worse
