An Autumn day with Manami

The weather's been changing, the leaves are falling and the sun's not as hot as it has been. Autumn is definitely here and that's Manami's favorite time of year.

 

I got her a brand new outfit for her to wear once it got cooler so when we got a nice clear day on a weekend, we went out in the backyard to get some shots of her in it.

The sun was bright but not hot. Sometimes it messed with my camera settings but for the most part things worked out nicely.

Manami is pretty as always! She looks good in that outfit beautiful shots!

Aw, that outfit is so cute on her! The photos are quite nice too. (Nice change from all the potatoes at work today--you'd be amazed what people will send to print. . . )

Thank you! She really did a great job for me that day. And even tho it's a pain to use due to the long focal and physical length, the lens I used for these really does a jam up job. It's a Sigma 70mm-300mm lens with no image stabilization.... that makes getting unblurred pics using the zoom rather hard. But I cheat and use a chair to lean on and prop the camera up to get those closeups. I sometimes forget how good a lens it is because of the hassles I go thru to get said pics.

 

As for the photo and how she looks, I got lucky with the lighting and angle. I kept moving around to get different looks for her and this one seemed to do well for me. The light kept changing because it was windy and the trees above kept letting in more and less light constantly. So one minute I get really good light like you see above, the next it's either too dark or too bright. But since I take LOTS of pics when I do these shoots, I usually get lucky and get one good shot out of 5 or 6.

 

Oddly enuff, Manami doesn't really like gingerbread cookies. She says they dry her mouth up too much and leave a funky aftertaste. Oh wait, that's ME, not her. She'll eat ANY kind of cookie.

Yes she does look sad in this photo. Perhaps she is thinking she might never get the opportunity to come out here to Arizona and visit. Can you imagine if you brought ALL your gals out here on a trip? That would be a huge undertaking. Heck, even taking all your gals across town would be a huge undertaking!

MANAMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are SO super pretty as always and I love your outfit! I hope Mama doesn't get mad if I use her account, Daddy's computer is downstairs so this one is just easier. It's me, Yuriko! You are as pretty as a frosting covered cupcake WITH sprinkles!! Mama would never let me wear anything that short. She said girls aren't supposed to sit in skirts like a military man. I told her of course not, because boys would look stupid in miniskirts! All you would see was icky hairy legs! Except my little brother Tama, he's so cute that he should have been a girl.

 

Mmmmm... cupcakes... I think a Manami cupcake would be the tastiest one. Hehehe... a Manami cupcake...

 

Don't worry about being sad, I feel your pain. I too feel the emptiness in my stomach heart that is pumpkin spice cookie shaped. Warm from the oven. All spicy and pumpkiny with frosting on top... I think I'm getting hungry. I need to go see what Tama's cooking today and tell him it needs to be cookies instead. LOTS of cookies.

I'm glad you could have a nice time with her out in the fall weather. The sad look is a bit of a change but variety of emotions can be nice to see, even when they are semi-bad emotions. But, that's just my take on the subject.

I look forward to seeing more pics of Manami and your girls. But I have to say Manami, Miyuki, and Nami are my favorites. ^^

Ha ha! You have no idea how much of an undertaking moving ALL my girls would be. I do think I would need a few large bits of luggage to fit them all in.... no way I'd send them on a plane or ship them tho, I'd have to drive all the way to you guys if I want my girls safe! And while I would love to come visit yall out there, I don't think I'll be able to do that for quite some time. But it *is* on my list of things I'd like to do so who knows? I may get out there sometime!

HELLLLOOOOOO YURIKO!! It's me, Manami! I hijacked Papa's account for a sec with Reikos help. Thank you soooooo much for the compliments! I'm super happy you like my skirt! I love short skirts, the shorter the better! Papa likes them short too so if he's happy, I'm happy! Maybe your Mama will let you wear one at least one time.... maybe bribe her with some cookies? No wait, you need the cookies for you! OMNOMNOM! Cookies! And I would give you a Manami cupcake anytime you wanted it! Actually I can give you TWO of them.... BIG squishy ones! Hee hee hee! Tell Tama I said hello! That boy is so cute and sweet! And I didn't know he knows how to bake cookies.... you should send him here for New Years so he can make me some cookies! I really enjoyed my time with her out there. She really does so many thing so well, especially when it comes to showing me new things like her sad look. I wasn't ready for it but I do really like it. It's so cool how a static face can look so different from several angles and with different lighting. I've had her for over 4 years now and I'm still amazed by her every time I spend time with her.

 

I look forward to seeing more pics of Manami and your girls.

But I have to say Manami, Miyuki, and Nami are my favorites. ^^

 

I've got some more coming up soon but not of the 3 girls you listed. But I'm sure I'll have more of them in the near future for you to look at. And I'm happy you have favorites from my girls, thank you!

Hee hee, it kind of does look very soft doesn't it? The sweater top is VERY soft and stretchy so it fits her nicely. The skirt isn't as soft but it's still pretty fluffy.

She loves being outside and definitely loves the sun. She's a very outdoorsy type so when the weather is good, she's always wanting me to take her out.

 

And thank you about my photos! I try my best to show how beautiful my girls are. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
