Volks x Type Moon Preorder Project!

So you mean that you won't have to pay any type of down payment for them? That sounds odd to me. How can you pre-order one or both without some type of deposit? Not that I know how Volks does their pre-orders, I've never done one with them before.

When you preorder you give them the card details. So as soon as its ready they debit your card and its shipped out.

Speaking from experience with preorders...

Aw, I'm disappointed if both Alter and Nero have the original Saber mold. I like it a lot, and could see Alter having it, but Nero is a different person and seems to have a different personality than Arturia. Seems kinda cheap if Lily gets a separate mold, but Nero doesn't. But hey, that could save me money 'cause I probably won't want two of the same sculpt! Maybe Nero will have some nice extra outfits. ^^

 

I'm not surprised that the USA dealers won't be getting to take preorders for these girls, but it would be kind of weird if Volks USA doesn't get them since they got previous preorder project dolls, and posted about it on their blog. *crosses fingers*

Nero has got armored boots same as the original Saber which is probably why she costs more by the way.

I hope I'll be able to get at least one of these girls. It's tough to buy dollies when you're unemployed.

Oh well, I'll try to save every penny that I get.

Why wouldn't VolksUSA have the Saber preorders? They've posted about it on the Tenshi-No-Sumika blog.

It doesn't make sense...If the VolksUSA blog posted about the preorder project, and we have translated materials, why would it be Int. only? It's not like the Touhou girls.

 

It might just be the fact that it's a /WEB/ project that prevents KL from being able to order them.

Aaah~ I wonder how much Volks USA will have her for? I know they use a favorable exchange rate for pricing.

 

 

From what I was told, Volks US will NOT be getting these at all. It iwll be international pre-orders only. I already spoke to Kerbey lane about doing the orders and I was told they aren't going to be able to do it.

 

I wasn't given a reason why tho. Maybe they don't know why yet either. So if KL can't do the pre-orders, that means Volks US won't be getting them.

It would make sense if Volks USA did have the preorders but since Kerbey Lane carries Volks product but is not an extension of the company itself, they did NOT take preorders. They've never taken preorders in the past for any item Volks has offered (to my knowledge)- you've always had to order through the website. Can you imagine how difficult to be if all the vendors who simply sold Volks took preorders as well and then volks had to try and compile them, etc? It would be much easier if they just took all the orders themselves through the website.

 

Since Volks posted it on the USA forum & translated it for us then I feel very strongly that we'll get the chance to order if we want to. In the past when they had dolls they did not bring here they simply never said anything at all.

Well, and it sounds like you're talking about the lottery system there (?) but it's the same practice. Once you know you are going to get an items, full payment is due immediately. With preorders everyone's going to get to make one.... unless there's a limited number of preorder slots everyone has to fight over. (((((

Sorry to cause any stir or ruckus as that wasn't the intent. I'm glad we have other people who can dig more into this and help shed light on other possibilites and who have experience with pre-orders from Volks.

 

All I really know is that I need to see pics of both Extra and Alter to decide who to go for. I really am leaning towards Alter due to less cost and cooler looking outfits. But if that red dress for Extra is awesome, I may go for her instead. Either way I think I'll be happy.

Good news! I asked Volks USA if they would have the DD x Type Moon preorder, and they replied (very promptly, I might add):

We are happy to let you know that VOLKS USA will be a part of the

pre-order project this year and we will have the special collaboration

pre-order items available.

 

Please keep your eyes on our website and blog as we will update

there when more information becomes available.

Most likely, yes. You could order just the optional outfits in the White Album pre-order, so the same should be true here.

ZOMG. Please don't apologize. ^^;;;;;; I just wanted to chime in and give you hope, is all. I adore all of you and never mean to sound like a d*ck.

I can't wait to see actual images of these DDs. That'll make deciding which one to get much easier. That is, if I'll be able to buy one. I'm even a little nervous about getting the Alter Saber though because of her white skin tone. It seems that it's harder to remove stains from the paler girls.

Is there a delivery time gap between pre-ordering from the International site and Volks USA?

 

I'm just thinking about LE dolls and Dolpa items that get shipped from Japan to Volks USA almost 2-3 months later.

Well from my experience on pre-orders with Volks Japan, they take your money some where in the production period but definitely way before the shipping date of the item. For example with my DDS Marisa, they took the money in December, the pre-order period is until end of October, so no they don't take your money right away. But the actual shipping date is end of February. So that's definitely somewhere during the production of the item when they took your money.

I see that makes sense to me. I wish they'd wait until the dolls were done to charge us though. That would give me more time to raise money, haha.

 

Think of the upside. If they bill you earlier, you may pay less if the JPY goes rocketting up or your local currency goes down in a death spiral.... I saved nearly a $100.00 when I paid for the White Album Dollfies because the NZD dropped like a brick between the time I was billed and time it shipped.

I was ready to say I would take Nero, but I started to fell in love with Alter and having a White Skin...

 

I will wait to decide after seeing the pics. I really wanted to have both, but... I am a college student, and the custom tax here is abusive! I paid more in customs than what I paid for Beato... and she took more than 3 months to arrive!

That's too bad. Hopefully you can at least get one of the new Sabers. I'm not sure whether I should go after Alter or Nero myself.
