Shiemi: Chika, I've been looking for you! I have some news!

Chika: Looking for me?

 

Shiemi: Yes, for you! Guess what? I'm moving! Isn't it exciting?

Chika: M-moving?

Shiemi: Yes! I'm going to a new house, with new friends. I'm sorry to leave everyone here, but it will be so much fun to travel!

 

Chika: But... I don't want you to go! You're the only friend I have!

Shiemi: Oh, Chika, I'll miss you too! You'll just have to make friends with the others here. I'm sure they like you as much as I do. And I'll always be your friend, no matter where I go!

 

Chika: But it won't be the same as seeing you every day! And Miki --

Shiemi: Miki is really sweet, you just have to get to know her. Anyway, come see me later, okay?

Chika: Okay...

 

Chika: *grumble...*

 

Yasu: Hey Cheeky, what's going on?

Chika: Oh... Shiemi just told me she's leaving.

Yasu: Yeah, she just told me. Too bad, huh? But she seems pretty happy.

 

Chika: Hmph... I'm not happy.

Yasu: I'm sorry. She's your best friend, isn't she?

Chika: My only friend.

 

Yasu: Hey, that's not true. What about the other girls here?

Chika: Miki's so girly. All she cares about is how she looks. And BOYS.

Yasu: Well, Shiemi's girly, and you like her. What about Ani?

Chika: I don't know Ani.

 

Yasu: Well... maybe it's time for you to get to know some other people better.

Chika: It won't be the same.

Yasu: It's never the same when people leave. But... you'll just have to make new friends. And maybe someone else will come here that you like. Or maybe there's someone else here who already likes you, and you just don't know it.

 

Chika: Like who?

Yasu: Well... I like you.

Chika: YOU?? I don't want a BOYfriend. I'm not interested in any funny business!

Yasu: Why can't I be a friend who just happens to be a boy?

 

Chika: You'd... want to be friends with me?

Yasu: Why not? I think you're pretty funny sometimes. And I think you're way nicer than you let people think you are. I'd be happy to hang out with you. Just think of me as sort of like a brother.

 

Chika: Yasu.... that's really nice of you. I... I mean it!

Yasu: Brother, Chika... I said brother!!

Such a sad but happy story! Sad because Shiemi is leaving but happy to see Chika is going to make more friends!

 

Where is Shiemi going and why? I think I missed that story somewhere....

 

And your Chika is very similar to my Sprout. Always hiding what she's really like or feeling and putting up that façade of hers. It's super cute!

 

On another note, I absolutely LOVE your backgrounds! The cabinet looks great and that folding backdrop is amazing. Where did you find those?

Thank you for your knds words about Shiemi, Oni-Chan! She is the type who always sees the positive side of everything... so moving makes her happy and excited for the future. Which is a good thing, or I'd be all depressed. LOL! And I knew Yasu was much nicer than he might look at first glance. The two of them COULD almost be brother and sister!

 

Billy, I didn't do a story about Shiemi finding out she was moving. But I did sell her on layaway and she is leaving. I've never been happy with her on the more mature body, and I found out it's pretty much impossible to find a white Sister body at a reasonable price. So it was more sensible to sell her as a complete doll. I may very well buy another 04 head in the future, in normal or semi-white on a less mature body, or I may just get a Mayu. I've always pictured the 04 head as a DD Sister at my house, really.

 

My backgrounds... I've had that standing screen forever. I found it at Big Lots probably 9 years ago. The carpet probably came from TJ Maxx (also years ago). The chaise is a new find from a local doll accessories seller called My Children (in Washington/Oregon), but unfortunately they don't seem to be online! The cabinet is actually two separate pieces. The bottom part is one of those jewelry boxes with a lid that flips up, and the top part is a handmade miniature glass door curio cabinet that a friend bought for me at a craft fair. The two pieces just happen to go together REALLY nicely, and make one decent piece of Dollfie sized furniture!

 

And yes, Chika definitely has that same kind of character "look" as your Sprout and Bud! All tough on the outside... but then they show you something surprising... like Sprout's love of pretty shoes! I'll probably find out that Chika hoards stuffed cuddly bunnies or something. LOL!!

Ahhh I see. Sorry to hear she isn't working out for you but at least it sounds like she *could* make a return if things go well for a body in the future! And thanks for explaining it to me, it makes perfect sense, especially if you have a vision of a girl and that's what you want. I'd probably be the same way.

Thanks for the info! It sounds like you've had some good luck with most of those things. And the two pieces fitting together like they do is great! You're lucky to have a place locally that has cool stuff like that! I wish I had that too.
