Temporary face-up / make-up?

Hello!

I have a weird question for You all today: are there any products you can use to make a temporary make-up (some paints, pastels, markers,...)? In my case I have to paint green eyebrows on Estel's face, but she need them for only 2 days. A friend of mine simply suggested some stickers, but I'm afraid the glue could ruin the outer vinil surface.

I'm afraid the temporary products have to be the same quality like the permanent ones.

Mr Super Clear Flat is a must. And then good quality soft pastels or acrylic paints.

For temporary eyebrows I'd use layer of MSC and then soft pastels mixed with water. And again, when they dry, layer of MSC. But You have to be very careful when removing them...

 

Maybe layer of MSC and then water slide decals?

How about using photoshop instead of putting on temporary face-up. You might end up ruining the existing face-up, whether the temporary products will seep into the vinyl or you might remove more than you wanted to while cleaning up the temporary face-up.

I have had the same idea, but, like you said, I'm afraid it could "damage" her original eyebrows... Still I want to try with the pastels or with some make-up poweder.

The only temporary make-up I would put on a doll's face would be in photoshop. Seriously, there's nothing temporary that you can do to a DD's face that will come off without the very high risk of damaging it.

 

I wish you luck with your photo shoot though- even if you don't have the temp make-up I am sure it will be a wonderful session. ^^

Watercolor pencils would be safest option IMO. You can clean it off with water afterwards. People use watercolor pencils on faceups all the time for planning and things they want to be temporary because you can remove it with water and/or a kneaded eraser. Just don't seal it afterwards or put anything on top of it.

I've used water colour pencil for faceups and all I can say is don't use it. They do not wash off completely and will leave a light mark on the head, especially if you are using colours such as brown, black or blue. I used a light orange on mine and can't wash it off completely, even with face-up remover.

 

But than again, you can always give it a try if you want. I was using high graded water colour pencils so the pigments might have been stronger.

Really? I use caran d'ache which are the high end of the market and had no issues removing them with just water. Did you coat with fixative like ZM Finishing Powder Spray first?
