Chibi-Airy goes to London!

This past weekend I met up for dinner with figure.fm members Jezatron, GabrielVH, DarkDollhouse and her hubby Fransgaard while I was in London, UK. I had an awesome time and we brought our girls with us None of them had ever seen a MDD body before, so I brought my newly acquired MDD, but since the head that's supposed to go with this doll's character isn't ready yet I chibi-fied my Aerie (Airy) and brought her instead Full blog post can be found HERE

She got restless during the flight over so I took her up to visit the pilots. Not many people get to visit up here so she was lucky to get this special visit. I told her ahead of time not to touch any of the buttons or we'd end up lost in the Bermuda Triangle.. or worse... LOL

 

Here she is on the Embankment Bridge that spans over the River Thames. In the background you can see Cleopatra's Needle, an Egyptian obelisk that was brought to London in the 1800's. Contrary to it's name, the heiroglyphs on it have absolutely nothing to do with Cleopatra.

 

Further along the bridge you can see St. Paul's Cathedral (probably best know to most people as the church where Princess Diana and Prince Charles were married).

 

At the south end of the bridge is the Royal Festival Hall. It's a beautiful concert space with great acoustics - my sister and I saw one of my favourite classical singers here a couple of summers ago. It's also the spot where the Pygmalion Society meets up once a month with their resin dolls (although a few DD's are know to make an appearance). I've never been to one of their meetings but I'd love to someday soon!

 

We met up for dinner at a Thai restaurant called Mango Tree. It's actually really close to Buckingham Palace - like across the street from the back of the palace - so it's like eating in the Queen's neighbourhood!

 

During dessert, our dolls came out! Here's Chibi-Aerie brought presents for all of her new friends; and here she is meeting GabrielVH's beautiful Yuki.

 

DarkDollhouse brought her Volks yo-SD Pino (base model Chika) and her adorable little mammachapp girl Sonja.

 

Chibi-Aerie thinks this looks tasty! Although I've never seen ice cream served with RICE in it before 0__0"

 

Here's a side by side comparison of a DD and MDD. You can see the height difference between the body types clearly here, even though the DD is on a doll stand. It's a bit funny seeing them side by side since they have the same sized head, but the bodies are on different scales. At least the girls unintentionally co-ordinated their outfits! ^__~"

And afterwards, Chibi-Aerie got to sit up top on a double-decker bus on the way back to our hotel.

Airy looks pretty on the MDD body! I love the picture where she is standing in the pilot's room!

 

The MDD body looks so little if compared with the base body! She looks also more tiny near the DDdy! That's why I love it <3 So little and cute!

 

P.S.: I want to go to London too!!!

I think the First Officer had her sitting on a clipboard. She was too "tall" too sit on the dashboard! LOL

 

I do think the MDD body is super-cute, but I hope they release a MDD-II soon with improvements to the joints.

I didn't have many options about which head to put on the MDD body. I'd already taken Moe to London a few weeks ago, and hubby would freak if anything happened to Saber Lily, and one of my custom DD's is visiting my sister. That only left Airy to decapitate and chibi-fy

Is the censor causing everyone to say bleep? You guys might confuse some of our non-native speaking visitors that "bleep" is the correct word used to refer to it...

Hehe thanks I didn't have many clothings options for the MDD since it's so new to my family. The top and boots came from the previous owner and my sister donated the skirt to me LOL It was a failed MSD project that turned out too small! Lucky for me it fits the MDD body nicely since it's slimmer than MSD's.

I didn't realize that the MCM was next month. I always thought it was in May - or maybe I'm confusing my conventions. Hmm... something to put into my planner as a "possibility"

Thank goodness I had the sense to put a silicone wig cap on her. The floppy MDD body flipped backwards while I was taking the bridge photos - but since I was holding onto her feet she was safe.

Just say "flight deck" - it won't set off the censor or confuse anyone.
