Buying from USA or Japan???

Customs can take a day or two depending on their workload, so I wouldn't worry too much. I think they mostly use x-ray machines like at the airport security checks, and probably only open boxes if the xrays don't show them a clear picture or if they see something suspicious. They might spot check randomly too, but given the monumental workload they have it's pretty unlikely your box will get picked.

 

Dollfie aren't what I would call fragile as long as they didn't try and disassemble the doll I wouldn't worry too much if they did open the box.

It sounds dumb but I've been working on getting her for awhile now, so I'm just anxious for her to get here. So after she gets here, I'll be like "I knew everything would work out fine all along"... Lolol

Volks does a nice job packaging them. The doll itself is usually alone in a top compartment in the box in a plastic bag and secured in place with two ribbons. Even if one of the ribbons breaks there are limits to how much it could move around inside the box, and there is usually nothing else in there for the doll to get damaged by. Kos-Mos was different; her wig and clothing were in the top with the doll and all her other stuff was in the lower compartment. She had so much plastic armor stuff there was no room down there for the clothing and wig.

 

Kos-Mos arrived a like 10 days before the Christmas Holidays. She sat in customs for 5 days before they even checked in the shipping container she arrived in, and then it was another 2 days to actually clear customs. I knew when she flew out of Japan, and she dropped off the earth for 6 days after that. I was freaked out.

SHE'S OUT OF CUSTOMS and on her way. Hopefully she'll be here tomorrow morning!...
