Traveller Posted September 21, 2011 Just something that is going through my mind here ............. Where do you store your DD clothes? Not a differcult question i know, but i have seen some people have waldrobes witht he clothes hang up, Chest of draws for clothes storage and other keep them wrapped up in storage boxes. Me at the moment have the various type of garments in seperate boxes, Pantoes in one, Stockings in another, Complete out (ie school uniform) in another, Shoes in another and so on. Is this the best way store with a waldrobe that keeps expanding or do I need to look at something different. Thoughts and opions are always welcome, as if I am doing something wrong the please tell me or you can give me any advise this would also help. This is from a guy who just brought Sae two new lace panties from DW today and one of them was "Thong" style
fenrir z78 Posted September 21, 2011 I am one of the waldrobe people. Most of the outfits that I have my mother or my self made (mostly I made) From the sound of your clothes I would make a DD size walkin closet. But if you know where everthing is and nothing is geting damage then keep doing what you are doing. As long as you are happy with it. There is no right or wrong way to store your things. XOHimitsuOX Posted September 21, 2011 I'm a storage box guy, since i have very little space. I got cheap Samla boxes from Ikea and individually put each outfit in ziplock bags.

Sae's clothes are in seperate bags with the exception of her panties which although stored in a seperate box are not wrapped individually. Do the dark colors trf when in storage against a lighter color? Sadly I have no self build skills to make any walk in waldrobes. I can build models but not create much from the ground up, with the exception of Sae
LordNoir Posted September 21, 2011 Currently all of Ichiko's things are in her nifty little wooden box I got at Hobby Lobby (it's like a DD sized suitcase or trunk.) However, all of my resins share a dresser drawer of clothes in my room.. and then there's one dresser drawer that is Az's things ( it's what happens when you have a diva dollie who decides everything is for him, lol.) archangeli Posted September 21, 2011 I have my doll clothes stored in large Rubbermaid tubs that stack on top of each other. 2 are for different DD outfits, one for SD16, one for "miscellaneous" stuff like accessories, socks and whatnot. I found this box at a craft store that I use for their shoes now. The dividers are re-positionable so I can adjust them to fit the size of the shoes. I have another one that's smaller that I use to store DD hands, eyes and small things like necklaces and belts. At some point I'd love to get a little wardrobe so I can hang my doll stuff up. It would actually SAVE me space since there's quite a bit of space in the boxes I use. I don't want to stuff them too full and wrinkle all the outfits. Strife212 Posted September 21, 2011 Where do you get the little dollfie size wardrobe? Dolls: Saber, Saber Alter, Saber Lily, Saber Extra, Saber Alter 2nd, Aozaki Aoko, Alice Kuonji, Haruhi Suzumiya, Yuki Nagato
fenrir z78 Posted September 21, 2011 Where do you get the little dollfie size wardrobe? Mine is hand made. I make things like that all the time. ( I am thinking of trashing it or just give it away.)If you look hard in the craft stores sometimes you get lucky and find dresser and things about the right size. Chuplayer Posted September 21, 2011 OMG! That's amazing, fenrir! Truly amazing! I just keep my girls' clothes in their original plastic bags, and I keep them in a cardboard box.
baldylox Posted September 21, 2011 I keep all my DD clothing in the original bags inside large Rubbermaid storage bins that are made to slide under a bed. I have 3 of them now and probably need to get a fourth soon due to accessories filling up the last one. So far I like this system except for when I want a specific outfit. If I can't recall which of the two clothes containers it's in, it takes a while to dig thru them. Mine is hand made. I make things like that all the time. ( I am thinking of trashing it or just give it away. ) Why would you be throwing that out? It's so nice! Do you not have enuff room to keep it anymore or are you planning to do an even nicer one that will hold more stuff? If you're planning on tossing it out or giving it away, I'd be glad to take it off your hands and pay you for the shipping to me down in SC. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

Wayne I wouldn't say odd... you and Aoi travel a lot! It makes perfect sense to have something portable and easy to get in to. Plus, you haven't had the time to aquire as much stuff for her just yet. So maybe you'll have to get some other type case or backpack for just her clothing! Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop. I got her bag with all her stuff, my computer bag, a bag filled with stuff for when i grab a shower, and a big bag full of clothes. And remember i team drive with my dad so space is VERY limited. I guess ill have to start leaving things at home. Wayne

My sister stores all her Volks MSD stuff in the doll's original boxes since they come in big cardboard boxes with slide-out covers (like Saber Lily's box). Otherwise it's a big waste of space. The DD boxes aren't as easy to store things in since they only open at the top & bottom. Traveller Posted September 22, 2011 I would say nobody is odd here even when it comes to storage of there daughter clothes. It looks like that most people do what I am doing and that is storying clothes and stuff in seperate boxes. As much as I would like a custom waldrobe or chest of draws for the clothes, I'll know it will never happen, but i do like the idea of a large sewing box. Maybe I can get a large wooden sewing box and treat it like a toy chest but with clothes in and devided into little areas for certain things.

You can take it one step more and get a cheap tool chest at the hardware store.

Strife212 Posted September 25, 2011 I'm going to get a dollfie wardrobe of some kind after seeing this thread, I'll report back. Well here we go Well I cheated a little, I started with a pre-made cabinet and changed it I added a rail inside for clothes and added feet to the bottom. I had problems with it tipping over so I made a base for it with some carpet on and stuck it down. I still need to add handles and change the front a bit but it's almost done. fenrir z78 Posted September 25, 2011 It looks good. And that is not cheating it is bending the rules. The doors are puch to open right. If so You may want to leave the handles off to give it a clean simple look. You did a good job. Next project is to make a room.
Traveller Posted September 25, 2011 I like the unit and see that Argos in the UK has a single door unit in a Walnut color at some really stupid price. It has an adjustable shelf so this could be used to put things on like Hat, phones and things,, Shoes at the bottom and then fit a bar to hand clothes. The down side is that I am not sure if the Argos cabinet has enough depth to hand clothes. As for the room. This is an Idea i am toying with myself, but need funiture first, so I've gotten a doll display wicker chair for my "Sae" to sit on and while in Japan over the next 10 days I will be looking for a sofa for her as well. Galvatim Posted September 25, 2011 That's pretty cool, Strife212! I would love to set up a room or house for my Dollfies, but I don't have the space... For now I have a big Rubbermaid under bed box that all their clothes and gear is stored in. And it's pretty much maxed out.
