How the pros do it

Some of you probably know about the very talented photographer AZURE Toy-Box and their beautiful outdoor doll photos. AZURE-tb recently made an interesting post on their blog showcasing the equipment they use during photo sessions - winter sessions in particular. Just let's say the equipment include a cooling bag to keep the camera temperature constant and snow shoes!

Proves that they're prepared to go that extra mile to get the best shot.

Now that is commitment! And well worth it, I hope, given the lovely photographs they've produced to share with all of us I must add that I am quite smitten with the last photo, I really love how they captured her about to exit the house, all prepared to face the cold outside world

... Hmmm at least ........ do they use a stand for the postings? O__O

Not sure. Either they're really good at hiding the stand or photoshopping it away afterwards. Still, can't figure out how they did this jump pose. Seems impossible even with a stand.

Indeed! It's Ogata Rina walking out onto the platform from the station house at Inao Station. Every year they make a new version of that photo, called "Departure", at the same station. A departure for the journey through the new year, I guess.

He shows a stand in the blog post and mentions taking it. I have peeked at the pixels with some of the more baffling photos and noticed stuff getting Photoshopped

Maybe they suspended her using fishing line :/ Actually, I think I see that she might have been on a U-type stand, with the pipe extending diagonally (perpendicular to horizon) from the kneecap on the right (。•ˇ‸ˇ•。)

Taking into account, that Azure puts DDs into rivers and such...

The doll could be actually tossed in front of the camera (set to fast continuous shutter, probably fixed focus, manual mode). SONY DSC-RX1R can do 5 fps, and this is the one lucky frame from a bunch.

Or the camera is wired to a something like a trap shutter.

No stand, no wires nor fishing lines, hair flowing in the air.

And the snow is soft, no danger of damage.

What do You think?

Okay, I did some pixel-peeping after my last post and must say, that thist postprocessing is not that good at all. Just forgot to post it...

Under the left knee (center of the photo) there is clearly a cloned area. foo was right and there was a stand there
