Sariachan Posted March 6, 2015 Aaaah figures right I fall in love with stuff they are either sold out or no longer being made. Yeah ^^; Here's the list of clothing releases for the next Dolpa, might be worth a look to see if there's anything you're interested in for April c: http://www.volks.co.jp/htd_kyoto11/sumika/ ||T-shirts||Twitter||MyFigureCollection||Flickr||
ArcticWolfie Posted March 6, 2015 Is that another outfit you can buy for her? That outfit is Blue Jumper Set alongside Faux-Fur Blue Cape and were released in the last Dolpa (32): https://www.volks.co.jp/page_ex.jsp?CONTROLID=SC0040&BUSINESSID=InitDisp&jancd=4518992405438&version=en https://www.volks.co.jp/page_ex.jsp?CONTROLID=SC0040&BUSINESSID=InitDisp&jancd=4518992405469&version=en However they were both click-war items, and have sold out. ^^; the click-war was worth it though:

Saber Posted March 24, 2015 I feel very dumb for having to ask this but how do I order her??? It sounds like people prefer the JP Volks site so I was trying to use that . . . They have instructions but the instructions just say "go to the pre-order sheet" and I can't seem to find where that is!
Gunter Posted March 24, 2015 Very, very bottom of her page. If you scroll all the way down there is a big ol' button there. Click it. http://puu.sh/gNSEF/d9ce9acf1e.jpg
Saber Posted March 24, 2015 Very, very bottom of her page. If you scroll all the way down there is a big ol' button there. Click it. I was tired! Also they seem to have a few promo pages for her and I got confused about which one was for ordering. Thanks for explaining it nicely. OK one more probably silly question . . . I thought her MSRP was 65K but on the preorder sheet she's 70.2K? Some kind of handling fees or something? I looked around but couldn't find where these fees were spelled out. Also, do you not pay anything until she comes out? Not even a deposit? It's the USA site that has a deposit right?
Gunter Posted March 24, 2015 Is fine. XD I actually had an issue the first time I saw a pre-order page too. Volks isn't entirely the most clear about it. They do charge "tax" even if we are international buyers. Shipping & Handling cost will come later, but everyone unfortunately gets charged a tax of a sort, thus the extra 5k yen. And no, you do not pay till they invoice you (which is in June of next year if I'm correct.) It is like any other figure pre-order in that sense, the only difference is that you may have even more waiting after that payment is sent. Only USA does deposit to try to divert people from dropping pre-orders.
Saber Posted March 24, 2015 I feel bad because they have instructions everywhere, they are trying. They're just . . . not quite enough, haha. Maybe it's the language barrier? I guess they feel OK not taking deposits because if you cancel your preorder they just blacklist you. Amiami does that too (although if you ask nicely you can cancel once in awhile). They KNOW that's a fate worse than death for figure/doll nerds.
Saber Posted March 25, 2015 Actually I just remembered something . . . The Good Smile Company store offers her as well! I'm not sure how this works but she's right there (sorry I can't post URLs yet apparently haha). Have you folks ever ordered Dollfies from there? I guess it intrigues me because they have a flat shipping fee of 2K yen. I'm assuming that Volks charges actual shipping costs? I'm sure GSC would be cheaper in that case. I don't follow GSC regularly unlike Amiami & Hobbysearch, but that may be a first time a dollfie dream has been sold there. I had to register & indeed was surprised to seeing that EMS shipping is only 2,000 yen. Wondering if there is some catch such as tacking on extra charges when ready to ship. Otherwise this is at least a savings of 3,000 yen. Very tempting to cancel my Volks preorder & go with GSC now. Preordered after seeing their stock is limited to 50. Hopefully won't be pushed back any verses my Volk preorder on the day it opened. http://goodsmile-global.ecq.sc/top/gscddmwd00001.html Edited March 25, 2015 by Guest
Eustia Posted March 25, 2015 I've ordered plenty from GSC in the past, and I wouldn't trust their shipping with a Dollfie. They don't use any manner of protective packaging, just put the item box inside of a bigger shipping box and throw it across the world.

I'd rather pay the extra 3k yen (which is what, $28USD?) for more security.

Now a little worried, but Volks pretty much ships the same way with maybe one layer of bubble wrap. Maybe they'll be more careful with a DD due to it's size & cost. Btw, just thinking about it they can probably quote lower shipping because they using the JP tax/fee that Volks pockets as part of the actual shipping costs. Saber Posted March 25, 2015 Oops I already did it, haha. That's a good point about the shipping. They don't normally use a lot of packing material. Normal figs are fine because their included packaging is already very robust, but you can get box damage sometimes. Important to a lot of fig collectors but are boxes important with doll collecting? However I don't really hear about FIGURES themselves arriving damaged. GSC doesn't care about damaged boxes but if the doll itself was damaged they would do . . . something. I don't know if they could get Volks to replace things, or if they'd just give a refund or what. Their customer service is fairly good though. I've had figures arrive not broken but defective and if you let them know right away they will usually send you new parts for free ASAP. So IDK, this could turn out well or bad. Btw, just thinking about it they can probably quote lower shipping because they using the JP tax/fee that Volks pockets as part of the actual shipping costs. I pulled up some unboxing videos to check this out too, haha . . . yeah looks like most people get a very nice-sized box with a layer of bubble wrap. So crushing would be a threat either way but shocks and jostling I assume are fine, especially because DDs, clothes, etc. aren't really brittle (as in, breaking easily from an impact like rigid figure plastics or glass). So . . . yeah, we'll see. I assume that they are charging "tax" as well because I'm sure Volks would not allow them to sell them at a lower price. Their shipping fee is flat. I'm sure they pay much less than we do per package because of the volume they ship. Also I imagine that a lot of their shipments are local. I'm sure they aren't going to be hurting too much from shipping a few DDs, hehe.
sie Posted March 25, 2015 It seems like a good deal but I'm surprised they are still taking reservations for it as it is suppose to be limited to 50 units. Would be sad if they issue cancellations after the Volks preorder ends.

Would be sad if they issue cancellations after the Volks preorder ends. It just opened up a few days ago. Also probably no one would think to look at GSC for a DD, haha. I only found out through someone linking it on MFC. I'm curious to see how long it takes them to get 50 reservations . . . especially since it's limited to 1 per person, so it'll have to be 50 different people. SisterKyoya Posted March 30, 2015 I'm still a little shocked that I preordered 2 so I can turn them in to Len & Rin Kagamine. That was a completely spur of the moment decision, yet since it was the first chance of a DD Len I wasn't going to wait and end up kicking myself into oblivion over it. Even after all this time of knowing, I'm still getting butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram

SisterKyoya Posted March 30, 2015 Definitely! Most especially since I don't tend to keep my mouth shut on things like this. I only have one (maybe two?) DD that I haven't said anything about that I've started working on out of the 17 we will have when Len & Rin get here. Normally I drive myself crazy because I can't keep my mouth shut. Because of Miku's head sculpt, the Project Diva Len & Rin would seem to work the best. I've never played the game but I've looked up the videos on YouTube a lot. That could have been the thing that triggered all of this. I also have a Pinterest board where I've been dumping the artwork that looks right to me as well as outfit designs I'm thinking about. I'm pretty sure I already have the yarn color to make their hair out of, or at least to test out. (It does not look like yarn when it's done.) I've got plenty of time to plan before they even get shipped, and that's good because I have a ton of things I'm working on. I'm pretty sure they are going to be on Obitsu bodies since much of the time Miku is taller than they are, and Len needs to be taller than my MDD Tamayuki (his #1 fanboy in our house.) ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
Saber Posted March 30, 2015 Are their eyes the same color as Miku's in that game? It kinda looks that way. Then you could keep her eyes too. Also I'm anxious to see this yarn that looks like hair, that sounds amazing and also confusing, haha.
SisterKyoya Posted March 30, 2015 Yeah, I was pretty excited that the snow Miku has the right kind of eyes for the Kagamines. Here is a pic of Lucas with the brushed yarn hair. This is not a full wig and it hasn't been trimmed yet, but I took the pics to get a feel if this kind of hair would work. It gets really flat and smooth because after brushing it out I use a hot flat iron on it. Otherwise it would look wavy like this. ~Sister Kyoya Forum Blog: Badger Pocket Tales (Family story from the beginning) | { Old Family story reboot: Start Here! } Follow me on Twitter, Flickr & Instagram
