SisterKyoya Posted April 1, 2015 So am I. I've got a lot of crafty tricks under my belt that I can use and I'm already thinking that it just might take all my talent to do them right. And I have a boatload of talent. Not trying to sound self centered or anything, it is just very hard to show them all in a single project. As I've said recently on Twitter, I'm very good at duplicating things (as this pic shows) but that is also the problem a lot of times too. More often than not if something is too good then it often isn't appreciated for all the hard work and brains it took to make it. One small fact about the pic is when I started, I had no idea if I could even do it, or if it would even look like it should. I keep on finding hard projects to do because I have yet to discover where the apex of my ability is. That's why I'm so excited about the overwhelming task of the Kagamines. They are extremely recognizable by a large group of people, especially Vocaloid otaku. So I have hope that someone somewhere will be at least a little blown away by what I can do since it's something that they have a good idea of what the details should be. Well kind of. I think I will keep her outfit, wig, etc. but use them on my current Miku. I'll keep the eyes for sure but I'm not sure about the head since it's basically the same as the old one with a slightly different faceup. I might keep it as an "alternate" faceup. Maybe they'll be more careful with a DD due to it's size & cost. Btw, just thinking about it they can probably quote lower shipping because they using the JP tax/fee that Volks pockets as part of the actual shipping costs. I pulled up some unboxing videos to check this out too, haha . . . yeah looks like most people get a very nice-sized box with a layer of bubble wrap. So crushing would be a threat either way but shocks and jostling I assume are fine, especially because DDs, clothes, etc. aren't really brittle (as in, breaking easily from an impact like rigid figure plastics or glass). So . . . yeah, we'll see. I assume that they are charging "tax" as well because I'm sure Volks would not allow them to sell them at a lower price. Their shipping fee is flat. I'm sure they pay much less than we do per package because of the volume they ship. Also I imagine that a lot of their shipments are local. I'm sure they aren't going to be hurting too much from shipping a few DDs, hehe. In most cases, the 2000¥ flat shipping that GSC charges can be a real pain, especially if you're ordering something small like a rubber strap. Their shipping begs that you order more than one item from them. In this case, it's a steal for EMS and since I've ordered plenty from them, I ordered Miku from GSC rather than Volks. Since I've had to order extra stuff from them many a time in the past to justify that shipping cost they can help me out with cheap EMS for Miku here.
