As per usual I can't keep what I'm working on with my DDs a secret because I get too excited. After two years of waiting Lucas is finally getting completed. These were just some quick pics I took this morning after testing out the hair wefts for his wig I'm working on. I honestly didn't think I'd find a way to do his hair in a big/wild anime style, but I've happily proved myself wrong!

 

His hair is sticking up enough to cover the fact that the rest of his head is bald. I'm still trying to figure out how big it will be when it's done since the fibers are really fine but poofs up easily. Trust me, it was not easy to get his hair right and I stressed about intensely for months.

 

Lucas really isn't some jungle man, but in the current outfit he sure looks like it.

 

With every DD that joins our family, the characters around here just keep getting more distinctive.

Me: *typing* Its so nice to see that Lucas is comp -

 

Kaylus: * Looking over my shoulder* Hey, if it ain't the Coconut boy!

 

Me: Kaylus! That is not very nice.

 

Kaylus: *shrugs nonchalantly* What?! I'm just saying it like it is. He looks like a palm tree. Ask Marius and Tomoe.

 

Kaylus grabs Marius and forcibly drags him to look at the screen. Tomoe sighs and shakes his head at Kaylus' antics. He reluctantly comes over to 'rescue' Marius.

 

Marius: Let go of me you big Oaf!

 

Kaylus: *gestures at the screen, while holding Marius close to him* Does he not look more like a wild palm tree than a wild man to you? Look at that hair. Funny look for a guy.

 

Marius, realizing that he wasn't going to get out of the one armed bear hug anytime soon decides to look at the photo of Lucas on the screen.

 

Marius: *relaxing* Hmmm... I dunno. It kinda works for him. You could even say he'd look cute if SK gets his hair fixed properly... Ouch! Stop squeezing me you Moron!

 

Tomoe: *clears his throat and taps Kaylus on the shoulder* Ahem!

 

Kaylus gives him a dirty look and at the same time realizes that Marius is grimacing in pain. Face pale, he suddenly lets the boy go, gives Lucas's photo an even dirtier look and stomps away muttering to himself.

 

Kaylus: *mutters* Are people blind or something?! Cute! *choking sound* Argh!

 

Needless to say, we were all looking at Kaylus retreating back with varying degrees of shock. So, yeah, Lucas, it seems that not only are you going to be wrecking havoc in Sister Kyoya's family but you seemed to have stirred up something in mine. I can't wait until you are finally completed.

Oni-Chan: Thank you for the kind comment, especially so long after the original post was made. When I told my mom that I was working on DD hair made from yarn, she thought I was using it straight off the skein. I think it is somewhat longer than I originally intended, but using the yarn like this was the only way to get the fiber to go in any direction I need. I'm still not sure how full it will be when I'm done, but it sure has been fun to play with.

 

Katnaper: After the last couple of days that Raven & I have had, I was nearly laughing and crying as I read through your post. It really was exactly what I needed. I'm sorry for the ruckus Lucas is causing at your home, but seeing such a long story post from you and your boys makes me feel very, very loved. Even Raven appreciated it. I'm so exhausted right now that everything aches but I wanted to check my email before going to bed. I only slept half the night last night, and spent the other half waiting to hear Raven's dad grunt and the floors squeak as he used to go back and forth between the bedroom and living room at least a few times a night. It isn't anything I used to look forward to, but now that it isn't there, the silence feels deafening.

 

I'm sure Lucas would have something to say but he's back at home, sitting in a draft of underwear for Tama that was way too big. Tama and Dolly are here with us along with Rainie, Ringo, and Yuriko. The DD shoes I ordered month and a half ago arrived about three hours before we had to leave, so Rainie & Ringo are thrilled to have shoes, Dakota got some, Ralph looks awesome in his, and I need socks for Lucas before I'd feel comfortable trying his on since they are all black. We are still sort of playing the mental game that Tama doesn't know Lucas yet (despite the pics of them together) because 1) Lucas isn't finished and needs clothes and 2) I'm trying not to get the intro story changed in my head. If it wasn't for that I'm sure Tama would have a ton to say to your boys. Thank you for giving me a smile that returns every time I read your post.

Glad to see it took your mind off things even for a bit. I figured I would at least write something since I have no time to take photos. I really think I'm keeping Marius and just try to get Yuuto a new body. Maybe if Danny Choo sells just the body, Yuuto can 'grow up'.
