DDH-03 Androgynous Custom

Hey all-- I wanted to share my WIP for a custom I've been working on. I modded the head's eyes, nose, and lips. Specifically, the eyes rounded, nose was sanded down to a smaller size and stubbier shape, and lips were sanded to be thinner. I wanted to create a cute androgynous look.

 

Since the doll is a WIP, I didn't notice till after I took the photos that there was a little bit of unblended pearl powder by the lip that makes the doll look like it's drooling, lol. I'm trying to decide on my next step-- I don't think I want to add any more color and other brushwork, but I'm thinking of either foregoing lip gloss or going light on the lip gloss. Usually for all my customs I also airbrush on some gold pearl flecks to add a little sparkle too, but I may not do that this time either.

(Yellow eyes are some artist urethanes I picked up off of mandarake for ~$2-- the other eyes are my unpolished prototype eyes.)

Where did you get those red and blue eyes?!! They are gorgeous. I'd love some for my girls. I also love your face up and mod. It definitely makes this head look androgynous.

Thanks for all the nice feedback! I did some more work on the doll-- I thickened the eyebrows a bit more and tidied up a few spots here and there with the blushing. The lips were really lightly glossed and I did end up airbrushing gold flecks onto the doll. I then put the head on my MDD body and was surprised that they look pretty nice as a boy.

 

 

I'm not sure where to proceed next from here, but I guess I am done for now unless I get a boy body. I don't think the head is mature enough to look good on a 60cm boy body, but it may look cute on a 50cm, 45cm, or 40cm Obitsu body perhaps.

I really like the 03 on the MDD size body; I haven't seen that before. It certainly does make a cute boy.

My first DD 3 years ago was an MDD 03 boy, Tamayuki. He has had the Obitsu 45cm boy bust for about 2 1/2 years now and it works really well if you are wanting to make your 03 into an actual boy.

 

 

 

 

This is Tama with Ringo who has an Obitsu 45cm body with an MDD S bust and insists on using the MDD hands.
