Need help finding info on these Volks outfits [Update]

Hello! It appears my googling abilities are severely lacking today. I'm trying to find out some more info on some Volks outfits I found on Mandarake. I'm trying to find official images and release dates for them, so that I can learn more about them. I've tried searching their names in English and Japanese with no luck and I'm hoping someone here may recognize them. I can't find them on MFC either.

I can't speak to those particular outfits, but I do have other outfits from The White Rose collection and they are well made, fit the doll well, and are quite beautiful.

I'm hoping the two sun dresses (still waiting on confirmation from Mandarake) will fit my Mikus, if not then they'll have to go up a few bust sizes. ^_^; I was hoping to know more before going after them, but didn't want to risk waiting too long.

The problem with old items like these is that they don't have the names printed on their labels, so Mandarake just tries to describe the item, so googling on their names won't give any proper results. Most likely they predate Volks USA as well.

 

The "Long Cardigan Dress Set" is the Autumn Flower Maxi Set/オータムフラワー・マキシセット from the October 2011 collection. I took the liberty of adding it to MFC: http://myfigurecollection.net/item/289001

The long cardigan dress set specifies DDDy on the Mandarake page, so I am pretty sure that means it's an L Bust fit.

 

It looks like it might be SD13 circled on the label of the two White Rose dresses, and that's what it says on the Mandarake page for those. If you look up info on the SD13 dolls that may tell you about the fit. Sorry I don't know the super dollfie or I would just tell you what that means. I get the impression SD13 roughly equates to a young teen, but I could be totally wrong about that.

 

My Kos-Mos has a "large shapely bust," and I don't really like how it looks. It's not very natural whereas the SS - M busts have a more natural look. I wouldn't recommend upgrading Miku to an L Bust unless you really like the look of over sized breasts. I know Kos-Mos was like that in the game, but I am thinking of downgrading her to an M bust except when she has her Kos-Mos outfit on. She's super beautiful so she would look great with a more natural figure.

I have the SD13 outfit "Wild Rose Dress (Snow White) for Forest Girl" from Dolpa32 and, even though it is listed as being able to fit M/L bust DDS's, it's a bit big on my M-bust DDS. I'm basing the possibility of getting larger busts on that. But I'd rather not have to get them, if I can avoid it - I don't like how the larger busts tend to look either. If the dresses are big, but not too big, on them, I can try the shirt-underneath-the-dress tactic.

 

I got confirmation from Mandarake today for all three outfits, so once they get here I can try the sun dresses on my Makoto to see how they fit. If they're huge on her, they will be way too big for Miku.

I understand what you mean. I have come across shirts like that many times (and not for dolls either). I share your frustrations Chihaya, I really do.

 

I forgot about the Check My Note outfit. I have one for my Makoto too, but didn't get around to trying it out on her. Poor Makoto; her own outfit doesn't even fit her right.

Overall the body piece is a bit large on Makoto, but everything else in the outfit fits her perfectly. Her Strawberry outfit fits her perfectly, and works on Sakura too.

 

This outfit fits Chihaya, Makoto, and Sakura. It fits Sakura best, but looks just fine on Chihaya. It won't fit Kos-Mos. The chest is a little loose on Chihaya, but you have to look closely to notice. You could probably use a bit of cotton to fill it out if you wanted, but i don't think it's necessary. I don't think the color would go well with Miku's default green wig, but I think it would be ok with Snow Miku's hair.

It has two sets of loops for the hooks on back to hook to, so you can make it a bit tighter to fit DDS.

 

I placed an order through Taobao recently. Once it arrives I will post pictures of my girls wearing the outfits in the clothing thread. I'll add links in case anyone is interested in the items. Chinese New Year is starting so it may be a few weeks before I see them. The items were pretty inexpensive and look quite nice.

 

Chihaya is a beautiful doll by the way. Her face is as cute as Miku's in my opinion. I'm looking forward to Snow Miku, and I want to get lots of SS bust clothes to fit the two of them between now and 2016.

I'm thinking I will get different wigs for the Mikus, mainly to keep their long, default wigs in good condition for when I dress them in their default outfits. Maybe not green wigs though; Ranka will have that covered. There is the option to order an extra of the default wigs, but it was very expensive. Would have cost me $150.00 to order it from Volks USA, not including custom fees and the exchange rate. :c

 

That outfit is very cute and has some good mix-and-matching potential which is a big factor that I look at when buying outfits. I'll have to keep an eye out for it on Mandarake, since I'm too chicken to use YJA.

 

I keep hearing good things about TaoBao, but haven't worked up the courage to try it yet. Probably for the best as there is this one TaoBao store I know I would have a huge field day in. They have a non-taobao site too, but it doesn't have as many things in it.

 

I look forward to seeing the pictures of your girls' new outfits! I'd definitely would find links to the shops helpful. I hope Chihaya is getting some new clothes too. She is very gorgeous, but underrated. I wouldn't mind getting her someday, if I could find her in a price range that I'm comfortable with. She and Makoto look great together from the pictures I've seen of them together.

 

I'll have to try the Blue Jumper set on Makoto this weekend. It's supposed to be SS-S bust only and should fit well. I can try squeezing it onto a M-Bust too, but that's the largest bust size I have. I really want more SS-S clothing too, since I am apparently acbleepulating a small army of SS-S bust girls. Not on purpose; it just happened that way. Ranka has a S bust too.

I have yet to receive any items from Taobao yet, but I did post links to the items I have purchased here in this thread. I ordered through Taobao Focus, and so far they have met my expectations. There are a few other recommended Taobao proxies in one of the other threads. I only have experience with that one.

Here is an example. It's basically an outfit for an Empress. $1600 and as crazy as that sounds I read somewhere real Furisode can cost $20,000+, and most Japanese women would need to hire an expert to dress them in one.

If they do I'm ordering a few for my Kos-Mos. Their F9-1 color is close to her hair color. It would be close to Snow Miku too.

I really like that green wig! It would definitely look good on her. Leekeworld is going to have some of their Unique Art wigs up for sale on the 24th and, since I have a new head inbound that is demanding a purple wig, I'm going to see if Leeke might have any wigs that would be good for Miku too. Especially if they make another one like this one, but with more white mixed in than purple.

 

The F9-1 would be a good match for Snow Miku and if Volks were to make a Sakura Miku, their F15 colour would probably match perfectly.

 

I'm happy to know those gorgeous Furisodes aren't actually that expensive. ^^ I would definitely like to purchase some in the future.

That is a nice wig. That is the hairstyle of Ruri Hoshino from the 'Martian Successor Nadesico' movie. The multiple colors are original though. She had similar hair in the TV show, but the pigtails were much shorter.

 

Their formal furisode all appear to be sold out, so it makes me think they might be a very high demand limited item. They do have other types of Kimono that are priced around $30- $100. They are all really nice looking.

I tried the "SS-S bust only" Blue Jumper set on my Makoto and it would definitely fit a M-bust too. It's loose on Makoto and would be even more roomy on Chihaya and Miku. :c I think the doll in the promo photos for it might actually be a M bust, because the outfit does not fit my Makoto the way it fits her.

$30-$100 is far lower than I was expecting for those Kimono. They're so beautiful that they could easily go for more.

When I placed my Taoboa order I ordered one or two inexpensive items from multiple shops so I could guage the quality of their work. Doing this made the base cost of each item a bit higher due to less efficiency in shipping, but it gives me a chance to see if placing a larger order at each vendor is worth it.

The outfits arrived today! I apologize for the awful pictures below; it's late here. That weird brown/green thing with the green sun dress turned out to be really cute sandals. The pink set has them too.

 

It looks like the Mandrake names for them were right.

The sandals are cute, but they don't want to stay on. :c The Mikus might have to wear shirts underneath the dresses, but they might look ok with just the dresses on. I'm glad the dresses aren't as big as I was expecting them to be.
