Yoko in her new kimono!

Back before Xmas, I bought a kimono online and was going to have Yoko wear it. But Xmas got all sorts of busy and I kind of forgot about it. So I packaged it up as a present and gave it to Yoko and now I am finally getting around to having her model it for us!

 

Here's Yoko in her new kimono:

I love the colors and patterns on this. She decided she would sit down for a second...

 

 

Oh, now where was that fan hiding?

 

 

This fan was actually a keychain I found in Narita Airport. I got 2 of them there and I'm so glad the size matched up with the girls. They fold up and everything!

Yoko decides that she wants to wear her default wig because it's red too and should look good with this kimono. So here she is!

Thanks guys! Altho I liked her new wig, I just had to try the default one for fun. At first I thoguht it was TOO much red going on but after looking at the pics on the computer, I knew I did fine.

 

I'm really happy with this kimono. Now I just need 3 more for my other girls so they can all do some springtime pics outdoors!

They would all be so cute in kimonos outdoors. Are you sure you won't need a 4th one for a blue-eyed girl? Just kidding...

She really looks good in traditional wear! I was thinking the up-front stuff would be a problem but she has that ideal Kimono look. Now, the "shapely" DDDy bust or the "normal" DDDy bust might pose some problems, but the "natural" DDDy bust that so far Volks has only used for Yoko looks fine.

 

From personal experience as a full figured gal, wearing a kimono can be a nightmare if you're "up front."

Thank you! I also think she looks great in this. I actually asked the seller about that when I was going to buy this but she had a DDdy girl there and showed me pics of her wearing it so I knew Yoko would be fine.

Ha ha! I can bet they are a hassle even without the issue of a large chest. They seem really elaborate to me.

 

I do plan on getting 3 more of kimonos/yukatas from a seller on the DoA forums. If you buy more than 2 they drop the price a little. So for three of them, I'd be looking at less than 30 bucks for all of them shipped. I'll have to wait til next month in order to do that tho.

 

And *NO* Mitsuki, I won't be needing another yukata! You are such an enabler! Making my bad habits even more difficult to stop!

One of Yumiko's best colors is red. Red, pink and white and earth tones. And she's pretty much a Titian girl by default now. (Titian the color = dark red. Titian the painter I linked to loved painting women with dark red hair, hence the name of the color.)

 

Her "Anzu" eyes have been very influential in choices I've made with her. I replaced them from the ones she got stock from Volks because the originals had some "crazing" (cracks) on them. I blame the hot glue, actually. Using FIMO as eye putty made matters worse. FIMO and Sculpey are reactive with acrylic eyes.

I love the side shot of her in her original wig. Her wavy red hair looks so flowy and beautiful, and the red in the kimono brings out the best in her hair/eye color!

Thank you very much! It's been a few months since I have seen Yoko in her kimono so it was nice to see these pictures again!

 

I am actually planning to head back out either this weekend or the next for some outdoor shots in a local park where there are lots of blooming azaleas and other flowers. I plan to bring all the girls decked out in their kimonos. It should be a fun shoot.

Thanks so much! Yoko is so good in front of a camera, she just sells whatever she is wearing with no effort. She could wear a paper bag and still look good.

 

I also love her first wig. I originally got it for Manami but I just didn't like it that much on her. But after I let Yoko try it, it became her new default. She always wears it now. I love her regular red one tho, it's great. But for day to day, the short wig is what I like best.
