Saber is here

Just got Saber, went home from work and opened the box

 

Here a little photostory made while unboxing her:

 

Saber: Here I am. That shipping was very long!

I don't understand why it took them so much!

 

Saber: But finally I'm in my new home.

 

Saber: I don't know, but something feels out of place. I don't feel well.

Maybe I'm just tired from the trip.

 

Saber: Just...where is my sword? I can't seem to find her.

 

Saber: I hope it wasn't lost...

 

Saber: Here you are!

 

Saber: I thought I was gonna feel better with you in my hands but... You're so heavy today. And huge!

 

Me: It not bigger than usual, you're smaller.

 

Saber: What do you mean with "smaller"? Explain yourself!

 

Me: I put you on a smaller body while I was repairing the bigger one.

 

Saber: So you're the cause of my sickness?

You're gonna pay for this!

*Thump*

*Bonk*

 

Saber: NEVER, EVER try to do something like this again.

Congrats! I'm used to seeing the DD heads on the smaller Obitsu bodies, but Saber definitely looks a bit odd. Really cute, but still odd. I really like the 2nd pic of her hugging her sword because she looks super adorable & the 'sword of death' pic (the perspective is really cool.)

 

Every time I see Saber I'm reminded that she's on my someday list. I still think her sculpt would make a good boy.

Is something not on your someday list?

I lost two occasion of grabbing a kos-mos and when I saw I could get Saber, I had to.

Now the question is... leaving her forever in her standard outfit or searching for a look that matches my other DDs?

Surprisingly there are a few sculpts that I really don't like. I actually hated the 02 for a very long time, mostly because she just looked totally pissed off. Snarky I can deal with (like Lucas), but not a girl who just looks angry. That's why Lorelai came as such a surprise. I bought that head for another DD I wanted to work on but got bored one day and started doodling on her face with watercolor pencils. I admit I bought a head I couldn't stand. I've wanted at least one of each of the standard sculpts so I got it to see if the face was even salvageable for me. I even laughed at the first pictures of KosMos because of her 'big' nose, but now I just can't imagine not having Miss Lottie.

 

Another unexpected thing happened the last couple of days while I've been working on a photo story is the realization that Miku's sculpt has some similarities to Saber Extra's, at least to me . Even though it doesn't change my desire to get Saber one day and turn her into a boy, it does put it further down on the list. I saw a pic of a Miku boy the other day and I never thought I'd want my own Miku so badly.

 

If you ask me, new clothes are always an option. Current number of our girls who came with default outfits: 5 Number of girls who regularly wear their defaults: 0

Also I'm thinking if I'll have her always speak in bold. She looks so authoritative.

Last time Sydia sent me a picture of a Miku wondering what mold would that be, I answered I was pretty sure it was a 02.

Sydia told me she forgot that mold actually existed

I don't love it too unless it's customized to look less grumpy. Lorelai looks smiling to me.

Also, it's a shame you can't imagine not having Miss Lottie as I'm still looking for that kosmos

I think I told you already, but I'm planning a boy too. I got both 50 and 60cm male busts from obitsu but i don't like how the bust-waist joint looks and i think the shoulders come out too low. I think I'll get a male body from obitsu. Or wait for the smart doll body? I think I'll just go the cheaper way.

My problem is choice.

Wamami has some nice bjd stuff (I don't like their small DD outfit choice) but I never asked them to make something custom on size for a DD, plus 40-50 days wait for the custom. Sydia is full of client work. Dolline on etsy has some nice stuff and DD sized, but most of it is casual and...

I don't like casual outfits and dress. I don't think they fit them.

- Diana is going to be dressed all dude-like (suit and tie).

- Alba is more feminine with shorts and unbuttoned shirt, but frilly clothes are definitely a no-go.

- My planned dds would be something more goth, so maybe a skirt and a corset, but still no casual outfit

And in all this, Saber could be their work boss, so she would need something classy for her too.

I also thought about upsizing her to an L bust (I have one, albeit a little bit discoloured) but her standard dress wouldn't fit, so I'm not sure about that. Also, she needs something that doesn't shows much skin (or vynil ) because I'm told her standard attire is a stain monster.

Hey, it's amazing how Saber managed to remain herself even with a small body I love her attitude.

Looks like Saber has very short hands with her long sword.
