Thank you! These took me a couple days longer than I intended, but I'm really happy that they are done. It's the first time I've taken pics of everyone like this since our first DD Thanksgiving in 2012 when we only had 4. I'm hoping to get a group pic soon once everyone has proper clothing. *Looks at Lucas* If anyone is wondering why Miss Lottie isn't here, I decided not to do any body swapping (Ralph is using her default with Obitsu pieces) and she is currently asking for a DDdy body & she needs a new faceup.

 

These are so well done! Perfectly set to each of their personalities! All of them are great but I do have my faves....

Thank you! Doing themed photos with 13 DD is really a first for me. I really didn't anticipate how long it would take me. All of the fonts (except Naiomi's, Ringo's & Tama's) are supposed to be everyone's handwriting. Naiomi's handwriting will be based on my grandmother's handwriting that I'm planning on making into a font. The writing on Tama's is supposed to be Dolly's handwriting because I couldn't find one that looked even remotely like his. It takes a long time to write his out that I'd like to make a font out of it as well at some point.

 

Sohi's picture makes me giggle because it's hinting at an ongoing story that I haven't done the pics for yet. She's been pretty quiet for a long time but I'm starting to get her figured out. I've got to buckle down and get stories done this year because when I get my preorder girls in Autumn, let's just say that they will make our household a very lively place.

 

I'm SO happy that you like Dakota's pic. She definitely had someone in mind and kept trying to show off a bit too much. I told her she couldn't because I told my mother I'd show her the pics. I swear, half the time she pesters me about why she can't go around the house naked if the curtains are closed. So far the reasoning that she'd make Tama pass out has been enough, not to mention Bree shouting "Boobies!" all the time would get old really quick. As a side note: Dakota has been one of the girls I've had to do the most research on as I try and find out what Southern girls are like and speech patterns. So please forgive me if she might sound like a bad Southerner crossed with a pirate.

Hats are what Ralph asks me for most often and this was the result of me trying to figure out a foil hat for him. (Alien brain wave manipulation and all.) It isn't the best material for millinery. The foil heart still cracks me up.

 

Ellie is still my favorite to photograph since she always manages to look super adorable. Daisy and her jam... she eats it like Japanese eat rice. LOL! I think the jam in the pic was almost as thick as the bread. Good thing it was sugar-free. One day her and Yuriko spent most of the day talking about cookies, jam, and most likely cookies with jam.

 

A little bit of additional info about the pics:

 

The Lego heart is actually a Valentines present I made for Raven many, many years ago. It's hard to see but the Lego guy is holding a gold key. (Sappy? Yes I know...)

 

Ringo insisted that she had to have an apple heart drawn for her.

 

Naiomi has very obviously delved into her magical studies, and like any actress, said she would not pose for her picture without a properly matching hat. (I'm really grateful for JadePixel's hat pattern. We are going to get a lot of use out of it.)

 

Miku's glasses took me a whole darn day to make with multiple coats of paint & Mod Podge. Is it any wonder I prefer 3D printing?

 

Ellie's flowers are from her Valentine exchange gift and are perfect! I'll be taking pics of that tomorrow.

 

And Bree is holding some owl fabric that is actually Tama's pajama bottoms. He still doesn't want to come near her but she's finding ways to sneak closer. LOL! This is one reason why I hate not doing photo stories. The stories are being told anyway but if they don't get out then certain events drag on a lot longer then they were intended.

Ha ha! No one really knows how long doing "simple" photos takes with a large number of DD's takes until they actually do it. Setting everything up, posing them, changing outfits, etc. can really take way longer than you'd think! You did really well tho!

I could definitely see who Dakota had in mind in her photo. And don't think we both didn't love it. It makes me extremely happy to have such a nice homage done like you and Dakota did. And that's hilarious how Bree would run around yelling "BOOBIES!" all the time, I have a few little ones here who do the same thing when Manami, Ryomou or Mai waltz around topless at home. It's hard to keep those DDdy girls under control when they feel they need to relax and set their "girls" free.

 

If you need some clichéd but semi accurate Southern female drawl to pattern Dakota with then by all means check out the old TV series called "Designing Women". Two or three of those girls had the drawl down perfectly. Very old school and very fun to listen to.

Bree... is so hard to explain. She's like a perpetual toddler in a ten year old-ish body. (This is the best way I can think of to express what an autistic mind is like to a neurotipical world.) She has no social graces, she repeats things like a parrot when it strikes her fancy, and most of the time lives in a world of her own. She decides for herself what everyone's name is and I haven't had any luck getting her to change it. She won't call me mommy, mom, or mama like the other little ones do, but calls me 'Lady' instead. Poor Tama... Bree heard Rainie call him Shorty McPicklepants (his 'code name') one too many times and now Bree just calls him 'Pants'. So if I let her squeal "Boobies" all the time, I'm pretty sure she'd end up running around poking everyone.

Funny you should mention that... I started re-watching that on YouTube a couple of weeks ago. I remember even as a kid I remember it made me laugh a lot. Being as far from the South as you can get in the States without being in Alaska, I really didn't know how accurate it was or not.

videos on YouTube as well. If you want to know what things are more like in my neck of the woods here's the video for Sh%t Southern Women NEVER Say (but probably should have been called Sh%t YANKEE Women Say.) Maybe now you can see why Dakota has been a bit of a brain twister for me.

It makes me so happy going back and looking at these after last year's 'picture drought.' There have been a few other theme sets I've wanted to do, but one would take new costumes for everyone, and the other would take multiple costume changes and at least five set changes and most likely months worth of work.

 

DD 4 Life is my reality.
