Is it true that henever a new DD is released you have a limited time to buy it and then its sold out forever? There are older dolls that i really fell in love with but a friend told me that I can only buy them second handed and that they r not going to be re-released. So, is that true? kymaera Posted February 23, 2015 They fall into 3..well, really 4 categories: The first are the standard models (such as Aoi, Yukino, etc.) which are generally available and not limited. They'll either be in stock or be restocked in the future (unless they are discontinued). The second are the Volks limited models (such as Alna, Akira, etc.). These are original characters that Volks make. They release them as limited editions but will often re-release with different skin tones (Alna's had three) or outfits (such as Akira's original schoolgirl vs. the magical outfit). The third category are the ones that they license (such as Sasara, Miku, etc.). These are available in one of two methods. They're either released at a Dolpa or event in a limited fashion (such as Sasara, Melty, etc.) or available as a limited time preorder (Miku, Saber Extra, etc.). They are very, very rarely re-released and so far, only as altered forms with different face-ups and/or outfits. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Yukamina Posted February 23, 2015 If you watch various marketplaces (here, DOA, YJA) like a hawk and are willing to spend a lot, I think you can find a Sasara on the secondhand market I saw a Sasara on DOA sell for under $1000 USD, that really surprised me. She certainly got snapped up quickly, though. She was just re-released so there are a number of her floating around (at a very high price like bethykins said).
