Just a question

How do you go about piercing vinyl to be able to give them earings? Thanks

I've seen it done by heating the vinyl and sticking a large pin through, but most use a pin vise. Personally I use some extra tiny drill bits I got at Harbor Freight and just turn them by hand.

I bought a craft drill at Michael's. It was about $20 I think. It works great. Just have to have a steady hand (deep breaths...dont ruin the head!) and mark your spots to drill (drilled one head with the holes in diff areas...opps). The set had 3 bits (1/8" which is too big, 5/64" which is what I use, 1/32" which is too small in my opinion). The smallest didnt make a whole large enough. The middle size made the right size hole i think.

I have done this on resin by warming it slightly and using a hand chuck with a small drill bit, but I think a pin vice on vinyl would work best!

You can use one of these --->http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=375&b_code=B20050603012757&c_code=C20050607065830

You can use them for resin and Vinyl. I have used them for one of my girls and all my resin earring wearing dolls. The control with this is better too as you control how much pressure is applied and if it slips its no big deal, you may scrape your finger a bit. And they are cheap.
