Not So Far Away (Plus Tamayuki Sings!)

I case some of you can't tell from the avatar, that's Baldylox's hand on Twitter. This pretty much feels like my world at the moment. My only 'window' that doesn't trigger my allergies being the computer monitor. The reason I'm posting this pic is I've been struggling a lot recently with having to deal with how small my world has become. Sun allergy + spring + everyone is happy about it = me just wishing I could go outside and garden.

 

So I'm attempting to post videos on YouTube as I work & draw on the computer and answer questions or occasionally have one of our DD sing (using Vocaloid) as a way to break past the utter isolation I've been fighting with. I've been working hard with my sister on Naiomi's Closet so I thought this might be a fun way to show off what it is I actually do when I've gone silent from the forums.

I don't know if anyone is interested in seeing me draw, but at least Tamayuki sounds really cute! I still crack up every time he sings 'believe it' because it sounds adorable and awkward. The original voicebank was taken from a British boy, so I was able to work most of that out of his pronunciation to make him sound American. (For other Vocaloid geeks, it's Oliver (obviously...)) I hope there is something for you to enjoy in the 3 minute video.

 

We have some more songs I did for Raven, including Ralph's Blue Christmas & Yuriko's 'Feed the Girl' (Feed the Birds from Mary Poppins) that I've done lyric re-writes on. I'd think they would be fun to do similar videos for, but I don't want to bore anyone with my addiction to Vocaloids. If you have a question you want to ask me and have me answer in a video, feel free to ask (although I don't like/don't understand politics) and it doesn't have to be DD related.

 

If this is in the wrong section I really apologize. I just couldn't figure out where it should go since it IS DD related.

That was adorable! And yeah, Rainbow Connection is a pretty Tamayuki song. (Some warped part of me now wants to figure out what Homura would sound like singing "Merry Minuette", and still wants to do Miku singing "Tijuana Jail." XD)

 

Whoa, you use the brush tool a lot in Illustrator! I tend to be a pen tool addict myself, but the brush does look more efficient for line art, at least. I'll have to practice with that more.

 

Seems like everyone I know is suffering allergies like whoa, including myself. (Not the sunshine part, but it hardly matters, because turning into a sneezefest makes going outside still royally suck.) I'm on stinging nettles and have been getting acupuncture for it, even, just so I can freakin' breathe.

 

Hey, I've been trying to grow plants a bit. It's. . . um. . . interesting. I don't have a green thumb, apparently, lol. Otillia, my red ivy, appears to have truly died. Clive the chive, however, seems to be a zombie--this is like the fourth time he's nearly died only to come back again. WTF, Clive.

 

Oooh, Naiomi's Closet is moving along? Great to hear! I know it's taken longer than your original estimate, but I expect setting up a shop isn't easy. I don't suppose there'll be anything Obi50 compatible in there? ^^;
