I want Sinon, but I don't know if I can afford her. 8 dollfies in 9 months has killed my wallet. And I have Sheryl to save for still! Maybe after I see more pics I can decide. Mio is as exciting as stale bread.

According to the Im@s wiki her three sizes are: 84-58-87

 

These are very close to Uzuki who is an M bust. Her photo doesn't look like an L bust. The L bust is really pronounced, and also in the Im@s character images Mio's bust seems to be about the same size as Uzuki.

Mio actually looks rather cute, and I love her sneakers! Though I wish they were in a fancier colour (but of course she is based after an anime character and if that's what the character wears then oh well). I'd love New Balanceish sneakers for my dolls!

And I agree with you, I am not too impressed. Cute but is just kinda flat imo.

I think Mio has a cute face, but it's not as pretty as Uzuki. I don't have any connection to the Im@s games or anime. For me it boils down to "does the dolls face have potential with different wigs and outfits?" I think Mio does have that.

 

Some of this may boil down to is the character popular in Japan? I would think if their goal is to make a character Japanese gamers like they need to be true to that character, and make her face as close to the concept art as possible when transitioning the model from 2d to 3d.

Oh, I agree! Hopefully she will have an extra outfit someday. I'm not familiar with the Idolmaster characters, I am choosing her on how I perceive her merits. But I like my dolls to wear everyday clothes, mostly. Their characters are just "regular" people.

 

I am hoping she will be a DDS large bust, at least.

As I can see from the Volks news scans Mio will be on DDS base body, normal skin, M-bust.

I hope for her stage outfit too. I like it on pictures very much.

Thank you for this info! I was hoping she'd be a large bust, since Mio looks quite voluptuous in her artwork. But I'm happy to get another DDS body! I can always upgrade! And I don't have a DDS med bust right now.

I've noticed she is upped a cup size in a lot of fan art, but her bust line in the official IM@S artwork is proportional to the other IM@S girls Volks gave an M bust to. (At least what I have seen so far.)

 

The bigger issue is if she is a one piece torso you couldn't just swap out the bust you'd need to swap out the entire torso. I don't think they sell one piece DDS torsos as parts either. You'd have to get one in a split, or aftermarket, or get all the parts for a two piece.

 

If she is a two piece you could swap it out, and I think her default outfit looks like it would fit. Her stage costume might be a totally different story. I am pretty sure when you see something listed as size M - L it's got to be sized for L, and M works, it's just a bit loose. I don't think an outfit sized specifically for M would fit an L bust well. It does depend on the outfit. I swapped Kos-Mos L bust for an S Bust, and the L bust sized schoolgirl uniform I have her in looks fine on her even with the reduction.

Yeah I like the one-piece torsos a lot even with the limited pose-ability. They look great in outfits that leave the mid-drift bare. I wish they sold them as parts and in D3 size too.

I don't think any of the Cinderella Girls are one-piece torsos, that was a thing for the original IM@S girls, who also came in those pink outfits.
