Finding faceup & tattoo artists for your dolls? (UK)

I've always got factory faceups for my girls in the past, but I've seen some stunning custom looks - and some simply breathtaking tattoo art on various BJDs online. Unfortunately, the few I've found seem to either be closed for commissions, or the international postage ends up being more than the faceup/tattoo price itself.

 

How do other people find artists? Is it harder to find them for Dollfie Dreams over Super Dollfie?

I'mma say now, if you want perfection maybe sucking up the postage is worth it? I've always willingly shelled out the money for expensive postage if I knew I HAD to have someone do my work. I'm in the USA, and I'm pretty sure I've sent heads all over the world. (I rarely want someone in the USA! D: )

 

As far as lookin' them up, I dunno, just browse? Both DoA and this very section have EU artists. I know some on DoA even advertise UK, but honestly finding someone willing to do DD work is a lot harder. Unlike with BJD where the market is everywhere, with DD it is a pretty limited scale. The majority of Asian artists are not even open to commissions.

 

So yeah, if you really want custom work you may be stuck in a tight place where DD are regarded. Possibly time to consider savin' up for that postage. lol

I have found it hard to get people in the UK for DD face-ups but I have started my own work and I am getting better. if you don't have the confidence to do it for yourself I would be happy to do some. my last commission I did a face-up as part of a trade so I don't have any price I charge but you can cover postage for you to me and back then any more would be up to you.
