A Dream Realized

 

 

 

 

I am still in shock and awe. I know people have thought I was nuts for a long time that Yukino was on the very top of my unicorn list when she is a standard girl. Well reality is what it is. I never imagined that when I told one of my older sisters that Raven & I were going to give her a DD for her birthday (it was a 'milestone' bday) that I would in turn get my beloved and cherished Yukino in the process. As it turned out, getting the DD body we needed for Sis was just easiest to order Yukino. As you can see, Tama-chan is equally thrilled.

 

Her outfit is a work in progress. The skirt is actually a petticoat with vintage satin ribbon & lace. The lace on her top is just trying to cover her default slip, but it gives an indication on the style of her clothing. I've already ordered her new eyes & her wig will be ordered in a couple of days. I struggled long and hard over if I should keep her purely default or not. Frankly I still can't decide and I won't know until the rest of her stuff gets here. It is also possible that with the wig & eye swap that she may get a new name (but Yukino will still be part of her full name.)

 

Every time I turn and see her it shocks me that she isn't a photo and I keep thinking "I can't believe Yukino is in my house!"

Congrats on getting your unicorn!! I guess a more easily available DD is harder to justify buying sometimes with all those urgent and pricey limiteds! I'm glad you finally got your Yukino, she's just lovely

I've talked to Raven the last couple of years and said that I wanted Yukino to be a surprise, but since I couldn't even figure out who I wanted her to be it made it pretty much impossible for him. Yukino kept being pushed down the list mostly because of the preorders every year. Even this year all my spending is going towards DD. I had no expectations for the preorder girls this year and wasn't planning on getting them at all, that is until I saw them. And then Volks pulled the double whammie of the Snow Miku preorders. So with all of that together I seriously was thinking that Yukino would have to be put off for yet another two years at the soonest. Between Volks USA & International I couldn't even piece a body together for my sister's DD and that's when I decided to check the standards. I have sat and stared at Yukino's page frequently the last few years so I couldn't believe that she was even in stock. Plus my sister wouldn't have to wait until either of the stores restocked enough to piece her girl together. I never could have imagined how much of a surprise Yukino was going to be.

 

I do feel a bit bad that I was originally saving for Miss Lottie's DDdy body but that has been put on hold until next year. I tried putting her back on her original body, and for her character & personality it just looked freaky/completely wrong. The positive side is that Yukino is getting that body with her original M bust so she won't have to be a floating head.

 

Funny thing about her being a standard girl is that her fabric choices are going to be the most expensive out of any of the other DD. She's not greedy or anything, it is just what will suit her character.

It's so nice to finally see you bring home your Yukino! I know you've wanted her forever but it looks like the Dollfie Dream came true for you!

 

Congrats on having her home, it seems she will be getting LOTS of attention from you and Tama. Will she be his long lost big sister since they're the same head? And what kind of body setup will she get if she isn't keeping her default?

 

By the way, I'm one of the people who ADORE Yukino as she is default. I wanted one for a while too and when a friend saw one for sale on Ebay for an awesome price, I jumped at the chance to get her. Even tho mine doesn't have her default wig, she does have the faceup and that won't ever change..... she's too pretty as she is. So I know exactly how you feel when it comes to loving her looks as she is.

 

Again, it's great to see you finally get your grail girl!

Aw congrats!! She is very pretty. Being a standard model doesn't make her any less special in my opinion Its how special she is to you that counts

Yukino is a very lovely girl; sometimes I'm a little sad that my crew would probably walk all over her. Congratulations!

 

Also, that shot of her hugging Tama, with his feet off the ground? HNG!! It's so cute I'm gonna DIE.

I'm still in shock at how all this happened and I can't even claim that it was planned. I knew story wise that she was going to pop in suddenly, but I didn't know that was going to be the reality. Apparently she just decided it was time.

 

As for attention, Tama has been stuck to her like superglue. When he has a mind to, that boy can chat up a storm! In the beginning I did wonder about the sibling thing & asked Tama. He was very definite on the fact that he has no siblings at all (other than his adopted family.) However he does know Yukino from 'before' but I have yet to figure out what the story is. All he has been definite about is that she is his really good friend, but he keeps talking to her so much that I can't get any more out of him about it just yet. I do know enough about what's going on that explains why they look so similar. No spoilers though since I'm trying hard to get all the stories caught up before Sheryl is done being turned into a boy, because that's when a ton of beans get spilled on practically everyone who has secrets.

 

As for Yukino's body, the one she came with is still in the box (minus the bust) since that's going to my sister. The body in the pics IS the one she will keep unless I decide to put 'boy Sheryl' (Madison) on a different body. Yukino has the SWS Kos-Mos body since Miss Lottie firmly decided that she wants to be a DDdy. I put Miss Lottie back on her default body the other day and she just looked freakishly wrong. So Yukino is still on a DD M bust body, it just is a mix of NS & SWS.

 

I really, really love Yukino as her default but there is another combination I fell in love with quite some time ago. I'm not going to say what it is since I'll just wait until I can take the pics so I can finally make up my mind on what one of two characters she will be. Her new eyes arrived today but I'm waiting to change them because I'm thinking about making a video on how to swap out defaults for another pair. Going through the whole process of my sister choosing and deciding on her first girl has reminded me of all the little things I've had to learn, and sometimes was frustrated that the info was hard to find. I've found it really entertaining answering the 101 questions she's had.

Thank you very much! Every time I posed in the unicorn thread that Yukino was at the top of my list, I could just hear people going "Wut?" I wouldn't trade Tama-chan for anything in the world, but I still remember being very disappointed that I could't just get Yukino to have the whole package all at once. I really wonder how that would have changed the entire hobby for me though since I have almost all custom DD.

Thank you. I think if you had a Yukino she would be more like Sassy (Tama's cosplay/body swap a couple of Christmas' ago) who totally manipulates people with her cuteness. She's so adorable but such a stinker. Even so I do agree with you that even with a personality like that, it probably wouldn't be enough to stand against any of your DD. LOL!

 

The pic where Yukino's holding Tama was actually the first pic I took. Still trying to figure out what their story is but Tama was nearly bawling because he 'never thought he'd see her again' and then she suddenly popped up.
