Senketsu Posted April 30, 2015 Greetings from the land of fine wine and once desert flats! I have been lurking among the cacti of this forum for near 3 months and I am loving it! It's so prickly xD. I'm a hobbyist that dabbles in cosplay and sturdy props. But before all of that, I played with action figures religiously. I love building for cosplay/props for any size but I needed something of a smaller scale to practice making some tricky builds. After seeing a Dollfies proportions, I near lost my mind and threw my wallet at volks lol. At first I thought Dollfies were creepy but I never got a good look at them until a friend showed me. I was and am still amazed of their size lol. Not to mention their anime-like faceups really touch my kokoro xD. I own 2 DDs, one I built from the ground up and a standard Mirai. I'd like to thank everyone a million times over of whom shared great info on care and repair and vendors! I'll share my developments as my thanks! Yay! Gunter Posted May 2, 2015 Hello from someone also within wine country! XD Congrats on both your girlies! That was a smart choice to grab DD for the sake of making smaller scale of full cosplay outfits. Costs less in materials I am sure. Who is the one you built up? Did you use a standard mold or a LE one? :> Just curious Either away a warm welcome from a fellow wine country individual~~
Senketsu Posted May 4, 2015 Since DD's were so... "popular"... at the beginning of the year, I was afraid Volks would never restock on standards. I just settled on building one from standard scratch =\ Quite pricey compared to getting a complete standard. Although I can't say it wasn't worth it. Assembling was quite the learning experience! LE's were out of my league since I had a budget. And I didn't do enough research on LE's till after Mirai and Candy appeared :C But no worries here. Maybe I'll customize some parts myself some day!
